One of your buddies just posted a thread where he said we "need another 9-11". That, combined with the fact that the guy had something like five posts to his credit, and his creative handle ("BushH8tr" --- Bush hater... get it?) was a dead giveaway. Creativity, people! Restraint! Haven't you learned anything from Dick Cheney about concealing your true motives?

If you want to infiltrate our freedom-hating pinko conspiracy here, what you should do is let yourself get to at least 100 posts before you start trolling. Of course, the downside of this is that in order to last 100 posts sans trolling, you may run the risk of reading and absorbing some viewpoints that are the result of actual knowledge and common sense. But hey, you're on GOD's side, aren't you? So nothing we say should influence your well-researched, deeply-informed, and non-reactionary views. Also, try and avoid entertaining your hatred of Bill Clinton. We Dems have the wacky ability to tell that he's been out of office for three years and as such aren't as obsessed with him as you fine people are.

My good DU friends, can you offer any additional advice that I'm neglecting to give our Nazi sympathizer friends across the aisle?

What the visiting freeper will find most impressive is that the rules at DU allow you to express yourself freely and debate your hopefully informed opinion. Of course, we disallow slander and slurs and, well, all of the obvious things.

So, you have hope! You can argue your point until your tuckered out. And, if you make a valid point, I daresay that at least some folk on here will defend you.

This is what distinguishes DU from Freeper-ville. Dissent is acceptable as a part of democratic discourse. And, if you can make some sense, you may even find some like-minded souls here...

uh....well, maybe not that last part, but certainly people who will defend your First Ammendment rights.

I for one welcome the post of freepers (though i'm pretty new and it's not really my place to welcome someone to something of which I have only recently become a part)

Of course, I would ask that they contribute intelligently. I'd like to discuss my views on politics with a conservative; talking to liberals is preaching to the choir.

I'm on other boards with people who I absolutely do not agree with, but if they discuss it like rational human beings with no ulterior motives you can really learn a lot from such discussions. Not enough to make me embrace supply-side economics mind you (for example) but you get the idea. Intelligent discussion is key. Sadly, what we get around here is the equivalent of one of us going over to Free Republic with a handle like "HiltlerRoolz" and talking about how all doctors who are part of HMO's are socialist agitators who seek to undermine the US constitution for the sake of international Jewry.

1. Don't try and steer every conversation back to Ted Kennedy and Chap. e.g"Hey, but us dems have our own skeletons..Ted Kennedy comes to mind."

2. Don't become unhinged whenever you see the Rush jokes and pretend that you are a recovering addict who happens to detest the way Rush is being "treated by some so called compassionate fellow travelers."

3. Resist the urge to "concede that Bill O Reilly really OWNED Al Franken on C-Span."

4. Don't say things like "Osama should be president" "Allah would kick Jehovah's ass" "We should celebrate Pearl Harbor, not commemorate it""I wish there would have been more people inside the WTC" Outlandish statements when you have only a few posts is a dead giveaway.

5. Quit restricting all your posts to the topics of gay marriage.

6. Don't refer to Asian-Americans as "Orientals." That's a dead giveaway.

7. Stop saying things like "the elephant in the living room is that I and all my leftist comrades are really closet racists."

8. Say something critical of Bush's policies in more than 5 posts.

9. Don't threaten to kill other people. I know that's a hard habit to break coming from freeperville where every other post begins with "keep the powder dry my boys"

10. Ummm..continue to let people like me think for you when you are detached from the groupthought of freeperland. I know it's hard to venture into a site where you have to formulate your own views and you freepers will continue to bumble about. Read the suggestions on this thread and you might last beyond 10 posts.
