Clark/Kerry/Dean in a Debate
What we have to do is imagine these three debating 1 on 1 with
chimpy. I think this will be the answer as to who can really beat GB.
And I can see Clark mutilating the chimp on the stage, Kerry doing OK, and Dean will be the weakest. Really, think about it.
I have not decided on which one to really support, but Clark seems to be the sharpest, and would have the most appeal the "scared" American public. Unfortunately this is the case and it is why the media is probably pushing Dean. The right wing WANTS dean to win the primaries, and lose the election. It will all go back to the 9-11 "who will protect us the best" issue by the summer of 04. They are just waiting and the attacks will begin. On Dean and on US.

4. Why exclude Gephardt, Lieberman, and Edwards?
Who are all arguably doing as well or better than Kerry in this campaign?

5. Quite possibly..
My obligatory disclaimer: I support Clark, Kerry, Dean in no pariticular order at this juncture. May the best candidate win.

I AM concerned that Rove will have Bush programmed to anger Dean to the point that he looses his temper and comes across as mean, antagonistic or whatever, to the poor widdle Chimpy. Tough is fine, but aggressively angry will upset alot of the less informed uncommitted populace. The last thing we need is Bush coming off as sympathetic.

I agree that Clark is the most likely candidate to absolutely nail Bush, while coming off looking fantastic.

18. About your second paragraph
Bush is not a robot and Rove can't program anyone but if you want to talk about bad temper you are talking about Bush. I seen at times where Bush turn into a smart ass when reporters asked him the simplist of questions, I actually think Dean has the best ability to push Bush's buttons. The media doesn't really show you this, but Bush has a really bad temper.

6. Would be an interesting debate
I think Clark would do well - he's quite capable. But Kerry would probably win the debate from an issues standpoint.

It would be a good debate though and would probably help undecided voters choose a candidate.

7.  A sophmoric analysis,
because, once again, discounting just doesn't cut it! We don't KNOW FOR SURE who can, and who can not BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF BUSH. Stop guessing, stop discounting, just stop it already!

Keep you nose clean, your ear to the ground, listen in your neighborhood to what other folks are saying, shut up and only plant little thought provoking statements.

This election will be won at the grassroots level if we all will just "get it."

12. Go Away??
Use your brain Ninga. We are up against the right wing media. They are just waiting for the right moment to smear Dean. And, this will happen AFTER he is the clear winner in May/June 04. It's so clear to me. I don't get why you don't see what is going on.
They are proping up Dean so they can defeat him later. Don't get me wrong I LIKE Dean. I just want us to have an unbeatable winner come Nov 04.

17. If debates were the sum of the campaign, that would matter more...
The reality is Kerry has been an utter failure at most other aspects of the campaign.

We're still looking at a loss of over half of his support in New Hampshire...and at least in one poll a loss of half of his national support.

Where's the indication he would do any better nationally?

21. well...
if its about straight debating skillz, Al Sharpton has everybody beat.

throw in a record of voting for the president's agenda, and it gets more complicated.

20. not quite.
from a standpoint of plain personality, yes, you're right. Clark would be the best, with his military record, compared to Chimpy McDodgeWar. no brainer.

Kerry would be next, and Dean last, mostly because both Kerry and Clark have their ace-in-the-hole: a good war record.

however when it comes to issues, i'd say it goes the other way- Dean first, then Kerry, then Clark; Dean is very passionate and very good at defining and defending his stance on issues.

Kerry is good too, but he has a voting record dragging him down. he voted for the Iraq war, for the Patriot Act, etc etc.

Lastly, Clark has no real political experience. he can't say 'well, i helped create jobs', or 'i cut taxes and balanced a budget', so he'd come in last.

22. You're forgetting one big factor.
Kerry was also a prosecutor. And Doc doesn't seem to like probing questions. A smaller debate might make that very painful.
