The cannibalization of the party is in full swing. Rove and his minions are sitting back and laughing as we rip each other to shreds. Divide and conquer, it's so easy to pull off.



It's too bad we couldn't focus on all the things we agree on. It's too bad, we couldn't focus on why we like our candidates and their postions on issues.

We are under full assault - from the Republicans, from the propagandists in the corporate media, and unfortunately, from within.

the Corporate Pundocracy to choose our candidate for us. That is why I think all of this Dean and Clark buzz is suspect. They are Big Media creations propped up to distract us. Rupublicans in Democrat clothing (Dean's NRA endorsement anyone?).

And meanwhile the media blackout on Dennis Kucinich continues. They marginalize the real Democrats in the race and play a game of bait and switch with a bunch of corporate big money whores.

They do it to us everytime.

Also, the media blackout on Kucinich is an illusion. He's only unmentioned because he sucks, he's short & funny looking, he's a kook, and nobody likes him.

11. I do agree

and I haven't decided on my candidate yet. I had been leaning towards Kucinich originally, having dismissed Al Sharpton. But after not being able to identify a valid reason why I had, I realized that I had some racist demons of my own to confront.

After much studying and deep soul searching, I have come to believe Al Sharpton may be our best progressive candidate. Kucinich isn't moving in the polls at all, but the Reverend Sharpton is now tied with John Kerry nationally and beating Edwards.

And isn't it about time we stop marginalizing African Americans within even our own party?
We must show African Americans we stand with them shoulder to shoulder.

This is a serious discussion we NEED to be having.
But whether its Sharpton or Kucinich, we must take our party back from the corporate whores.

This whole Al Gore endorsement charade has only reinforced my suspicions that Howard Dean was just this year's model.

If we're going to talk about Corporate Punditocracy (in our party) and "real Democrats," we might as well just start making enemies lists and be done with it.

Politics as usual is going to be carried on by usual politicians. Until we can get Buckley vs. Valeo overturned (which would involve getting Democrat nominees on the judiciary, not more Republicans), money is going to play an enormous role in politics. That much is obvious. If you don't like politics, fine, but don't kid yourself that being a true believer is going to change anything. That trick never works.

Look at the Clinton presidency and then look at the Bush presidency. If you honestly can't see that the one was a thousand times better than the other, then you might as well skip politics altogether.

Democracy is never pretty.

Fascism comes in a tidy package that everyone agrees on.

In the current system of electoral viability, the Unified Front of the republicans has a distinct edge.

But lets remember what we are are struggling for.

If we "win" by emulating the narrow platform definitions and unanimity of those that simply wish to retain power than to legitmately and fairly rule, then have we won anything at all?

I'll take the messy, infighting, backbiting, black-eyes and bruised egos Democratic process, thanks.

Lets suck it up a little here...we ARE talking about the future of our nation. I'd much prefer to have passionate disagreement than docile compliance to a party line.
