Question regarding Nader and a request to leave your flames at the door.
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 12:57 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
Please ONLY POST RESPONSES that might conceivably answer my questions.

I am asking those DU'ers in the know the following question.
In another thread last night, it was stated that Nader had sent a 25 page memo to BOTH parties and that their response to that memo would confirm whether he ran or not.

Is this memo available anywhere? What are its contents? Does anyone know where I might obtain IT or information about it?

I did google and came up with nothing and have not seen it anywhere...though I have not taken a great deal of time.

I am simply curious as to its contents.

3. The thread is locked now and to incorporate it
would only raise the ungrateful dead. It didn't link to the memo.

2. i don't know, BUT
Nader has a questionaire at his site where you can ask him not to run for teh Presidency...it seems to me everyone who doesn't want him to run is getting a chance to tell him

5. I'm less interested in that than in the specific agenda of the memo
While he has some very good points and does have a contribution to make to the national conversation, I have stated in the past that I believe public policy should move slowly in most cases. It is my belief that in many cases but for remedies to fraud, larceny and the like, rapid public policy shocks the electorate and leads to unintended consequences.

I am interested in dissecting those recommendations he make that SHOULD be undertaken and CAN be untertaken without leading to unreasonable job losses or other ill conceived consequences.

4. It is sad you have to write your comment
You should be free to ask something like this. Nader is important to know about and what he will do. No reason for anyone to get upset.

Like to see it myself.

6. According to last night's thread
This is all second- or third-hand, but according to last night's thread, Nader is purported to have said that he would divulge the contents of his questionnaire after he had received responses from the Democrats and Republicans. I believe the timeframe was somewhere around mid-December.

10. Anytime between now and xmas
is when the results would be released, if what you are saying is true.

11. I don't know of anything that long...
but I know he's trying to get Congressmen to sign onto a survey on corporate reform. It's only a one-page questionnaire, but you can find a pdf of it here:

he'd publish the memo after he receives his response from both parties. He was contacted by both parties telling him they are preparing a response.
