Dem 9: Anyone making the moral, patriotic argument re: tax cuts and war?
Aside from criticizing these twinned Bush policies and Bush himself for pursuing them, has anyone yet presented the argument to the public at large?

It's long been my contention w/ family that citizens who say "We support our troops" and "Where's my tax cut" are talking out of two sides of some orifice or another.

Has any candidate gone beyond a critique of Bush per se and asked Americans to contemplate this? It fits with a whole range of positions on the war, and seems any of the Dem 9 could do it.

Again, I'm aware of the critiques aimed at Bush. I want to know if anyone of them has yet asked American citizens for some serious personal introspection.

I understand it's the primaries and perhaps no need to yet. Hence, NOT a slag if they haven't. But if not, do you expect to see it in the general? If so, how to frame it more tactfully than I have above? Or is it too easily spun as a bitter--gasp, even angry--accusation of citizens' hypocrisy?
