Which way will the eagle's beak face? (US currency)
I remember reading that, in times of war, the eagle's beak faces toward the 13 arrows as opposed to the olive branch, which is reserved for peacetime minting. Has this change been made since the US started bombing Afghanistan, or is this another example of the government's lack of respecting our nation's traditions?

1. Urban legend

This deals with seals, not money, but I'd assume it works the same way.

2. Snopes strikes again.
I'll never read Joseph Campbell ever again. (I'm pretty sure that's where I read about this.) I never even thought that it might be an urban legend. Thanks for the link.
