Will a weak Dem Presidential candidate encourage third parties?
If Bush is ahead of the eventual Dem POTUS candidate by double digits before the election: won't voters want their votes to at least count as a protest vote? This could be the Greens and Liebertarians big chance to move into the big leagues in terms of debates and media exposure.

2. A weak candidate?
Umm. We have an incredibly strong field of candidates. Why are you talking about a "weak candidate?"

3. can't tell if that's
pessimism or optimism. Beyond that, it will be no "big chance" for anything, rather failure will be the embodiment of a wasted chance.

Sorry, but if anyone is going to encourage a third party, it would be Clark.

10. Who said Clark would do it? Maybe Dean would do it.
Not one vote has been cast. Dean is not he de facto nonminee.
