If, I say "if", the Democratic leadership were reading DU........
Would they get positive advice on how to counter the Republican arguments and policics? Would DU be a resource that candidates could rely on to put forth an argument on just about any legislation or pertinent issue? Would we be an asset or a liability to the Party?

As everyone knows, every Congressman and Senator have aides that assist them with their speeches and legislation. Some of those aides probably read DU on a regular basis. For example, I think DU was read by the aides of Robert C Byrd before the vote on the Iraq resolution. Many DUer's took up a collection to send flowers to the Senator because we so admired the way he was standing up bravely and fighting for our Party and for the Constitution. So I do not think we are writing in a vacuum. There are people that read DU that look to us for information and research on the Republican Party and the issues of the day. In my opinion, this is serious business. This is not just a "chatroom".

1. No.
Unfortunately, for every ounce of DU wisdom, there's a pound of DU nonsense.

2. No they'd realize this is a vocal tiny minority
rather like the troublemakers in the back row of a concert that sneaked in. Good thing this place isn't taken seriously by any except the diletantes and habitues that have time to hang out here all day long.

7. DU is the biggest Democratic focus group ever and everyone knows it
If a Democratic politician doesn't have staff reading and writing on DU they should be fired for incompetence. Websites are getting very close to TV in terms of audience.
