1. yes and no
halliburton is always on a short list of pentagon/government vendors, this is because when sh*t happens, you need companies to react now, ie, it's not time for triple bidding ( and triple bidding at the speed of the government, no less ) so there is always a list of companies that have "pre-bid" for contracts. clinton didn't really pick halliburton, they just happened to have the contract. you should be able to find a link.

but it would not be surprising. Haliburton has been doing work for the government for a long time.

6. Exactly!
That's what so many wingnuts seem to miss. Of course, if the Clintons make a couple hundred thousand bucks on a normal investment venture like Whitewater, then they spend eight years and a gazillion dollars investigating it, persecuting and tormenting him, etc., etc. But if Cheney or any other wingut makes millions off of something shady, well, say, for instance, being the head of a company with billion-dollar government contracts, well, then, that's just good old-fashioned capitalism the American way!:puke:

7. The Diff
The difference is that in the Balkans they were working in support of a great and noble cause, but in Iraq they are supporting an evil cause.
