Writing letters to the editor about another Democratic candidate.....WRONG
Writing letters to the editors about YOUR candidate....good thing.
Writing letters about Bush is good as well.
One campaign forum has people urging each other to write LTTE against Dean....that is just wrong.

Dean supporters are urged to write about him, not about other candidates.

Wrong, no redeeming qualities at all. You do NOT write letters to the editors about another Democratic candidate.

1. That's what the enemy does.....
...they attack and attack and attack. No other game plan exists.

And don't get me wrong....YES, those people are the enemy. They choose to attack a fellow Dem rather than praise their own or attack Bush. They ARE the enemy if this is the course they choose.

For crying out loud, praise your own, defend your own....but only a pathetic, bitter anti-Dem would have to stoop that low. They used to be known as Republicans, but it appears now as if they've shown up amonsgt us.

Sad.

8. the best reason of all
is because that's what repukes want us to do.
it drives up the negatives for the whole campaign season.
if liberals would stay on target -- bush -- then we might get quite a ways in the minds of the public long before the actuall elction season begins.

but this is disgusting. I wonder if the candidate knows, and if so if he/she approves. I hope not.

14. It is quite easy to spot on the forum.
I am quite sure the campaign is aware if they read the forums or blog. The candidate himself may not read them, but I doubt he would approve.

16. For those who are working fervently to stop Dean
If these people continue their inflammatory anti Dean mode they can pat themselves on the back for putting Bush back into office. When will they learn that is how Dems lose... Sheesh!

I found one by a Dean person in a newspaper while searching.....saying another candidate should step down.

It is wrong. We have Zell Miller doing enough harm.

19. Very big self-defeating move.
Sorry to hear that folks in the campaigns want to take the 'in-house' battles out to the public - and risk doing further damage to the bigger cause (of the democratic party) in general. Building skepticism and illwill - will be used against not just the targeted candidate - but all candidates. Watch whatever slogans are being used - be turned around in an Orwellian move - on ALL candidates.

If War Hero Max Clelland could successfully be attacked as weak on national defense... he who lost limbs in the cause of the US ... against a draft dodger (who was framed as strong on defense... no kidding)... any anti dem. message can be used against any candidate. No one has an "innoculation." Not Dean on guns. Not the General or the Vietnam Veteran and Senator on Defense. These are Orwellian times and the outfundraising/spending on the right - will be used against any/all candidates. Giving more ammunition is VERY self-defeating.

Moreover the ONLY way we are going to have a chance with the spending disadvantage (it is inevitable)... is to be able to go one on one to fellow citizens, to use the newspapers, to have double the volunteers that we have ever had before... A form of unity at a higher level than before. These types of LTTE - are harmful by creating hostility and divisiveness within the groups that are needed for that kind of volunteer effort.

If you are behind a single campaign, and they urge this action, I ask that you think about the long-term harm that could be caused by it - even if your candidate gets the nomination. Some efforts are worth resisting.

27. Pseudo-link.
I did a search on Google: "Clark Blog Dean Letters"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Clark+Blog+Dean+Letters

The first item that came up reads:

"Clark Community Network || CCN Home
... of Clark Writing letters telling why Clark is better than Dean Participating at the
local level in all Clark events All ... DC Pol Sci's Polls Analysis Blog. ...
www.forclark.com/ - 56k - Cached - Similar pages"

I can't find this on the site, though I didn't look for long, however.

The Kerry forum is advocating a lot of negativity. Dean folks should avoid this, all should. They have got to concentrate on their own candidate.

29. Why now? Where was all the concern when Trippi had his dog attacking
Kerry's picture? That set a tone for the campaign and Deanies were spreading lies like Kerry = Bush, Kerry is Bushlite, and Kerry is a corrupt Washington insider. NOW, you're outraged how candidate supporters act towards Dean?

33. People concerned with the actions/path of their
party and party members shouldn't write to express their concern? I did it yesterday on mbare.org. I'm not ashamed. The primary season is the time to structure the party. Only after a nominee is chosen should we be united. There has never been a primary, so wide open, where there wasn't bickering within the party. It's healthy.

34. If you don't include a cite or link, you shouldn't accuse....
a campaign or its supporters of doing something.

It's possible it doesn't exist. It's possible it was one post from one person in response to something a pundit said about both Dean and Clark, and the suggestion was to write to clarify THAT. It's also possible it was one deviant supporter (all the campaigns have them).

It's hard to know the facts when the facts are not presented and sources not cited.

I'd say that most Clark supporters don't frequent the blog. Too difficult to use.

35. I can give you links to both forums.
But you can go there and do a search on "howard dean." If I post the links, I will be attacked for doing it.

If I post the links, you will see DUers there or someone with the same user names.

I just think this is wrong. Write letters to build up own candidate, not to tear down another.
