Maybe the state thinks if they can keep the wheelchair patrol out of government buildings entirely, they'll be easier to hoodwink - and less likely to protest against unfair legislation. Nothing looks worse than a bunch of wheelchair bound kids crying in front of the statehouse.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott wants the courts to strike down a 1990 federal law that requires public buildings to be accessible to people with disabilities.
Abbott's staff of state lawyers is fighting the Americans with Disabilities Act, saying the section of the law that prohibits public entities from discriminating against people with disabilities, Title II, is unconstitutional.
