Would Sam Nunn make a good running mate for Dean?

I heard his name mentioned yesterday by Novak and Tweety. Wouldn't he offer a nice counter to Zell's Bush vote? He also would offer very strong Foreign Policy credentials and he's from Georgia to help with the Southern vote. Thoughts?

1. No for two reasons

First, his passionate opposition to Clinton re: gays in the military reveals him to be a flaming homophobe, reason enough for Dean to reject him. Second, the disrespect he showed a newly-elected president in that episode was an example of party disloyalty that should never be forgotten.

how old is Nunn now? I don't think you're going to win southern states even with a southerner on the ticket, but Nunn would probably be the strongest person to attempt that strategy.

3. He's 65

The thing that really intrigues me would be the slap in the face that he could put on Zell if he wanted to. I'm sure that Bush has big plans for Zell in the upcoming election.
