Good Charlotte, Green Day, NOFX To Rock Against President Bush
http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1479176/09192003/nofx.jhtml

<snip>
Good Charlotte, Pennywise and Sum 41 have always been known more for their practical jokes than their practical advice. That may soon change.

Next year these bands, Green Day, NOFX, Alkaline Trio and others will unite to raise political awareness and encourage pop-punk fans to vote in the next presidential election — against George Bush. The groups will each contribute a track to the compilation Rock Against Bush and take part in at least one show on a tour organized and funded by NOFX singer/bassist Fat Mike, who also owns the label Fat Wreck Chords.

"About a year ago I decided to use my influence to get bands together to speak out about the president," Fat Mike said. "I think it's our responsibility as citizens and musicians to do so. He's wrecking the country and the world. He's starting wars for no reason, our economy is in the toilet, he's ruining the environment, and he does things like cut taxes when we need money."
</snip>

Will Music help end King Bush?

2. I am almost ashamed to
admit this as I am so out of it but I thought this thread would be about Charlotte, NC. Ralph Nader and Bob Novak coming out against Bush. Please forgive me.

3. Pennywise known more for jokes than politics?
obviously the person writing this has no idea what they're tlaking about. NOFX just released an album highly HIGHLY critical of Bush, and Pennywise are Anarchists whose music is pretty much solely devoted to that cause.

Glad to see this though

7. NOFX
The last album from NOFX was called The War on Errorism. It includes songs titled Franco Un-American, Idiots Are Taking Over, American Errorist and Idiot Son of an Asshole. The liner notes also have lots of great stuff including a plug for the film Unprecedented about the 2000 election.

15. It's about time political punk rock came back....
...even if we have to tolerate fake punks like Good Charlotte playing it. Certainly beats Titney Spears spewing "Like oh my God, of course we should always trust the pResident" or Jessica "proud to be a Republican" Simpson who is so goddamn stupid she thought Chicken of the Sea was actually chicken!

Kerry has been a great senator for as long as I can remember. He made one mistake and now you hate him. Why? How about a Bush banner on www.blink182.com? Would that help us?

27. i thought it was more of a dig at blink182
I dont like kerry because he is for furthering the neoliberal agenda of globilization and NAFTA and WTO if you dont know what noeliberalism is (its name is confusing because it is like liberal )check out http://www.corpwatch.org/issues/PID.jsp?articleid=376
you can also go to www.globalexchange.org and http://www.corpwatch.org/issues/PII.jsp?topicid=104 to find out more about globalization and such.
Free trade policies give the middle finger to the global justice movement unions environmentalists indigenous populations and of course sweatshop workers.That is why in miami 40000 union members (not counting other activists and anarchists) were there despite police intimidation to protest the ftaa(i saw some pissed steelworkers particpate in some direct action along with us nothing like angry steelworkers)

straight punk party ticket.Isee kerry like blink 182 trying to pass as punk wen in reality it aint its just corporate produced, establishment
backed drivel and is no different from all the other pop punk setups.Any way Jello said he never would vote for some one who was for free trade or he death penalty at the green convention And jello aint never wrong(kucinich made a suprise visit and totally convinced all those greens there to vote for him) penny rimbaud should be his vp (do you have to be a citizen to be a veep?)
