Here is an interesting incident that happened a few days ago......

Incident Date December 9, 2003 Time 8:35:00 AM Division Gold Hill Shift I
Title Other Location 21st Street and Cimarron Street
Summary At approximately 8:37AM the Police Department received a call from the Farm Crest Store at 21st and Colorado that a large herd of buffalo were in the street. The buffalo were from G&C Packing and they reported that 46 buffalo were loose and they were requesting assistance in getting them rounded up. All but three were captured and returned to their holding pens. Of the remaining three, one was killed by a resident of the westside, one was killed by Officer Dennis Mulso and one was killed by Officer Steve Sprenger. It was reported that several employees from G&C Packing received slight injuries, but no injuries were reported by citizens that were in the area. According to the officers on scene only six of the buffalo left the area of G&C Packing and created any kind of safety issue for the community. No criminal charges are anticipated against G&C Packing or the citizen that discharged his firearm within the city limits.
