My Daughter Just Told Me She's starting a YEAH Club...
at her school. Youth Educating Against Homophobia. It's a gay/straight alliance. Her H.S. is Rove's alma mater (blech!), but she's got information on what to do if they go wingnut on her. She just needs a teacher to sponsor it. Her history teacher is a raging liberal and the favorite teacher at the school (funny how often that happens), and she's hoping he will sponsor the club. I'm so proud of her!

1. Rove's Alma Mater? That's awesome!
I hope it all works out.

2. We'll see.
They were trying to get Rove to come for the 50th anniversary. I was so looking forward to protesting, but it looks like he isn't going to show. Anyway, my daughter should be able to start the club. One other high school has one, and she knows a lot of GBLT kids at her school. I'm just glad she's getting involved in something she feels strongly about.

3. Good for her!!! I'm tired of gays in this country not getting equality!
There is NO reason gay people shouldn't be able to marry, adopt, share assets, file joint tax retuns, etc. How can you possibly deny them the right to marry and say this is a democratic country. I'm sick of it. It's not different than saying someone can't marry b/c of skin color. I'm not happy that the dems are skirting it and saying they are for civil unions. What? All men are created equal and all men have inalienable rights, but not gays? Just say it why don't you.
