1. Let us all get on this
Notify your Senators and Reps. in DC. Notify your state senators and reps. Your Secretary of State (who will most likely make the choice) That we want a verifiable paper trail. Notice jeb will not allow it in fla.

3. to contact your state's Secretary of State
If you don't know your state's Secretary of State or you need a phone number, go to:
http://www.vote-smart.org/

and click "My State" on the top-middle of the screen.

I haven't done this yet myself, but I'll do it next week. We shouldn't just count on Washington, D.C.

4. And what will be there argument against it you think?
Kind of hard to debate in Congress and say having a paper trail is bad. So what's their angle? Paper is too costly? Won't have enough time by 2004? Paper shortage? All this paper would hurt national forests? You know they'll have something. They prob just figure it won't make it to Congress for a vote. Funny, they can find 80+ sponsers to put Reagan on a dime, which is not important at all. But something like ensuring one of the most sacred things we have, voting, stays uncorrupt, gets -0- sponsers!!!

2. They're in recess, therefore there won't be any co-sponsors...
.. and Sen. Boxer is also writing a bill to require VVPB by 2004 as well as Sen. Clinton.

I'm going to hold off bombarding the lawmakers until we get the best bill figured out.

On December 8, 2003, ten more Congresspersons became cosponsors of HR2239, the House version of the Voter Confidence Act.

As far as I know, Senators can also become cosposonsors during Winter Recess.

17. I contacted
the two WA senators. They may not have a form reply ready yet, so a staffer might have to actually ask them how to respond.
