Medicare and campaigns. He laid it on the line...AARP is one of the biggest insurance companies around and this is the first step to screw Medicare...
Said money has helped lower the level political discourse..recalls the day when to call you opponent anything other than "my worthy opponent" would have been political suicde.
Recalled how he and Gerald Ford ran their campaigns using the money raised from the check-off boxes on tax forms...and how he struggled to raise his portion of the funds to run...
He's written a novel, his 18th book, and 1st novel by a President... about the Revolutionary War.
Now discussing how Iraq was an 'unjust and unnecessary' war.....

Of his relationships w/ former presidents: says Jerry Ford is his closest friend, gets along w/ Poppy, can't talk to Reagan (obviously) and has had his differences w/ Big Dog but they get along well.

2. James Earl Carter will be remembered as a courageous man. |
|
His wisdom will be appeciated in hindsight by those who follow us in the years following Peak Oil.
I really think this is the finest human being to ever become President. No wonder the corporations hated him. We can't let an honest man be leader of the free world, for heavens sake.

over the years, but I've got to say that the passage of time has shown me that I was wrong about every one of them. He is a great human being and well deserving of that Nobel Prize.
I'm also pleased that he is speaking up a lot lately and showing some leadership.
