Clark presents a state by state plan for turning around the USA
I just wanted to share this with everyone. I am not sure if other candidates have released a similar plan (if they have please post), but I think this shows how Clark's campaign has a vision for turning around America. Its about vision and that is what the American people want.

A state by state breakdown of Clark's goals for Illinois:

Here is an interactive map. Click on your state for more info:

1. "All politics is local"
Some old Democrat used to say that, Tip O'Neill? The interactive map is really cool.

4. I like that #1 is "Increase typical family income $3,000"
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 12:05 PM by WhoCountsTheVotes
That's the kind of specific goals I like to hear! As long as "typical" means median not mean, good for Clark.

3. Just awesome!
If the other candidates don't have one I'll bet they follow in Clark's footsteps soon. As the saying goes: lead, follow, or get out of the way. The General leads!

5. Very impressive approach to breaking down what the policies mean.
Kudos to Clark and his team! Appeals to this policy-oriented voter.

9. Indeed - which is why
this policy oriented person likes it! Didn't mean it as it has narrow appeal - but that it is very hard for folks to take policy issues straight to the public in a consumable way that resonates. Again a

Background - in 1992 - my choice was Senator Tsongas - due in a big way to his focus on economic issues - interms of investing in the 'economic engines' (infrastructure, manufacturing in a way that focuses on long-term investment, etc.) It was a great message. But it was not packaged in a way that non-policy folks often heard. Hence, seeing a breakdown done in a way that is consumable, is very appealing. :D

I was probably one of five people in Dallas who did.

8. Comparing CA to Texas on that map
Clark's plan will lead to 4,296 less deaths from air pollution in Texas and 262 less deaths in California. Texas sure has dirty air.

I love the map. Great idea!

are paying attention. Someone chided us for not advancing the substance of our candidate.

11. Hey, NO WAIT!!!
I thought Clark wasn't being specific about his plans for domestic issues! Oh wait, that's the OTHER guy talking...

I love the map, it's way cool!

Absolutely every time someone says that Clark is not being specific, we MUST send them to the Clark04 website. I've been really amazed at how much information he DOES have there - and how specific his plans are.

I know he isn't typing in each and every word on his website, but for Pete's Sake, whoever it was who said that General Clark never sleeps must have been right. He has accomplished SO much in the last couple of months, really defining his ideas and policies, and laying them out there for all to see.

Love him or hate him, at least you can't say you don't know where he stands.

OK, so I love him, what can I say? :loveya:

14. Clark's vision for computer industry: "let India do the software"
personally i find Clark's "visions" to be ludicrous. the man spent his entire life cloistered in the military, and his supporters still often have to spin-doctor his statements by saying that "That's because of his military background". he's never run for public office, or won it, before. two months ago he didn't even have a decent web site. and now we're supposed to believe that in this short period of time he came up with a "hundred year vision" and a "state-by-state" vision. meanwhile he goes around saying idiotic things like minimizing the dangers of depleted uranium.

OK, so i did visit the site and clicked around it. the "state-by-state" plan is a bunch of hype. all i found was a bunch of canned stats that probably took an intern a few hours to snatch off the web.

17. Obviously you cannot get past that statement. . .
. . .we would love your support, but if you aint feel him there is nothing we can do. Hopefully if he secures the nomination we can count on our support, your candidate will have mine should he secure the Democratic nomination.

25. nice, that's a response worthy of Ari Fleischer
"get over it", "move on".

well, no. i'm not going to "get over it". the man just condemned my job and my whole industry to oblivion. if you think i'm going to vote for this blowhard, you've got another think coming. i'm not going to vote for some arrogant clown whose "vision" for america is to just let my job evaporate. and, consider this. it's not just "my" job. there are a lot of people in jobs and industries whose future could be either protected, or not, by government policies. it's not just the software industry. and i don't think they'll be reassured by Clark's blithering either.

as a military man, Clark was presumably pledged to protect the US... apparently that pledge doesn't extend to protecting American jobs. in my opinion, that worldview represents a dangerously narrow "vision".

26. No I am not telling you to get over it or to move on. . .
. . .however do you know anything about Clark's policies beyond that statement? Do you care to learn more? Or has that statement caused you to turn off Clark entirely? If you are at all curious then I encourage you to learn more, if you are absolutely turned off there is not much I can do for you.

16. Brilliant idea, but
short on specifics. It's nice to see that my state can expect a "$3,000 increase in a typical family's income" and 100,000 fewer deaths from dirty air, but how? He's on the right track, but there should be links to the policy proposals that will lead to these outcomes instead of a simple promise of results.

. . .I am more than happy to hear what you candidate has to say on the same issues. Obviously if you feel comfortable criticizing General Clark on these issues your candidate has offered a better plan. I welcome you to post it.

24. Read the policy briefs for more specifics.
Regarding "dirty air," there is a clean air plan which is 6 pages long.

I'm no expert in this area, but I'm glad Clark has something to say about it.

What do others think?
