Just got off the phone with pollsters--- LIMBAUGH

I was just polled about a.m. radio--or at least that was the excuse. But only a couple of the questions pertained to anything other than Rush Limbaugh.

The last question, in fact, was one that tried to ascertain whether I listened to Rush before he went into rehab and whether I listened to him after.

They're trying to figure out whether or not to can him. Of that I have NO DOUBT.

The poll was about Hannity, O'Reilly, and Limbaugh--but almost all about Limbaugh.

They're sampling the waters.

Edit: They asked about Laura Ingraham (sp?) too. I told them I'd never heard of her. (!!)

5. I wish I could remember! It presented itself as some kind of

a.m. radio polling service, but I can't remember the name.

It was interesting how the questions progressed, and it was also CLEAR, by the end of the process, that that's what this was all about. It was so transparent, in fact, that I started laughing, and the pollster quickly ended the call.

I honestly would need an apollogy , he's called
women some terrible names. Same with others there is
a lot anger that would need to be healed and it would
take a lot of hard work on his part Years probably
before I could ever feel comfortable answering that
question with an open mind .

9. Don't get your hopes up!

I called my radio station, (in fact two) complaining and trying to get Rush pulled. Basically they treated me like a reverse-freeper. They said his fan base, and his sponsors are still with him. And much to my dismay, they seem to treat him as some kind of friggin hero! Put my little tin-hat on because I think he has these sheeple hypnotized some how. Over the years every liberal orginization has tried to start boycotts to get that fat bastard off the air. But as long as you have this mind-numbed-robots out there, rush will always be on the air. Personally I beleive whoever was doing the poll may have been one of our liberal publications trying to get a good article built up. I wish em well!

But now someone is trying to get actual data about his listeners, and I would be willing to bet that he has far fewer listeners than he claims.

The claims of the large listener base exist to attract advertisers. I've bought media time before and know this. Listener statistics are always skewed so that they sound the best.

17. Was in radio, more than TV, most of my career, and I know this

to be true, also. That is MOST interesting, janx. Only one problem - when you started laughing and the poll-taker hung up - I'd have been concerned that my input this person just compiled would have promptly been deleted. Especially if you suspect this was a pollster with an axe to grind. They DO skew polls. They DO try and manipulate the numbers to their best advantage. EVERYBODY does this. Especially polling outfits that lean toward the right. So you may have ding'ed yourself right out of their survey since they may have realized you were on to them and not one of them. So your input may not have had much effect. I hope not. I'd love to see Limbaugh get the axe, nationwide. I'd love to see him cut down to size and begin to be forced to pay for all the damage he's done. I'd love to see his full karma come back on him during my lifetime, and his, so he's alive when he has to face it, with hundreds of millions of people looking on. I'd love it, and it would restore my faith somewhat.

... runs him because he gets the listeners and brings in the revenue.

The day that stops will be the day he's off the air. It really is as simple as that.

They might do some polling, but the final poll will be arbitron, because that is what the advertisers care about. Maybe they are just trying to get an advance notice of sorts, to figure out what they will put on in his stead.
