The 'Bash Bush Instead' Thread
Can't stop yourself from posting derogatory stuff on other people's candidates? Are you finding yourself in the position of trying to be civil, but someone has said something about your candidate you can't let slide by? Bash Bush! I'd really like to see Bush take the hits instead of our Democratic candidates. I'm going to use the same (or similar) hits our candidates are taking here at DU, and direct them towards Bush instead.

Bush voted for IWR.
Well, Bush didn't vote for IWR, but he goddamned started the Iraq War by deceiving the men and women who were asked to vote for the resolution.

Bush is a liar.
He ran on one type of platform, 'Compassionate Conservatism', and then, after being appointed to the White House, did a 180 degree turn.

Bush is a phony.
A photo op is just that--a photo op. He'll take a picture with you, or mention you in a speech, but he won't do a goddamned thing to help you. (i.e.; the NYC PD and Firefighters, coal miners, libraries, sex slaves, AIDS, the poor, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.)

Bush is just like Reagan so he will win by a landslide in 2004.
FALSE. Bush is Reganesque alright (and I'm not talking about Ronald Reagan). Bush shouldn't be compared to Reagan, or anyone else. Bush is Satan...I mean Bush, and it is 2004, not the 1980's.

Bush is unelectable.
If anyone is 'unelectable', it would be Bush. He wasn't even elected in the first place, and he will not be elected in 2004. The only things he has going for him are (1.) Stupid people who vote and (2.) Evil people who vote.

Okay, I'm a crappy writer, but I think most people here can do better, so let the Bush Bashing begin.

2. Bush says one thing, does another
Cuts education programs after visiting classrooms, clear skies causes more pollution, healthy forests cuts down trees, speaks to vets and cuts benefits, worst president in history.

3. Here's something to think about..
Most polls are beginning to show the Gore states starting to fall back into the blue column. As an example, Dean (a supposed McGovern.. :P) is leading Bush is pretty much all of the NorthEast.

And Bush's approval ratings aren't too hot right now. Texas gives him a 58% approval rating - pretty crappy for one of his strongest states. If his approval rating nationally is around 50%, let's think about the mathematics behind such numbers. Imagine the bell curve. If Bush is around 58 to 60% in most of the South, there have to be places below the national average pulling his national number back down to 50%. Again.. it's another case where the blue states are falling back in line.

This campaign season, however, we're going to run a better game. If Dean's the nominee, we'll be funded competatively. And if he isn't, then kudos to the candidate who does beat him, because that candidate would have to be pretty strong to knock-out the Dean juggernaut. We're going to have an unprecedented get-out-the-vote operation in 2004. Think of Soros' and ACT's millions being spread through those 17 key electoral states. Think of the Nader vote being blunted to an asterisk. Think of three or four million new voters showing-up to the polls. Think of turnout in the 18 to 30 age group jumping significantly. I have a good, good feeling about next year. The Chimp will be going home, and the world will be able to begin its long recovery.

4. Good idea
Let's enumerate the most hateful talking points and hand them off to the primary winner so they can take them to the people next Fall and really sew this election up. What a wonderful idea!

15. I find your sig very insulting
to chimpanzees. Bush really has very little in common with a chimpanzee. Chimps are highly intelligent, and have a great deal of emotional sensitivity and psychological complexity. They are also able to learn to use language at a rudimentary level. Although his face does bear a superficial reseblence, I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

16. Great Sig!
I had to turn on my sig option to see it, and it was worth the effort.

I just love all the people here who have been civil even 90% of the time. Thank you! More and more people seem to be jumping on the 'I- support-such-and-such-for-the-time-being-but-will-do-whatever-it-takes-to-remove-Bush-from-office' bandwagon. You've given me hope that we will all eventually be willing to unite behind whomever the Democratic candidate will be.

8. Junior has been soft on terrorism since the coup
He decided it was more important to clear brush on the pig farm than to implement any of the anti-terrorism recommendations in Gore's Aviation Saftey Report.

And within days, the same moron that was saying what a huge surprise the attack was, assured us it was all because 'they' hate us for our freedom. As the judge would say, You can believe some or all...

13. You're welcome!
I thought of another one, and it's been kind of hard to think tonight for some reason:

Bush has no foreign policy experience.
After 3 years in office, he STILL has no foreign policy experience. Let's face it, a box of rocks could do better because they can't open their idiot mouths and insult every nation on the planet. The good news is, all of our candidates are way smarter than Bush. WAY.

10. Amateur hour
"I think the administration has behaved quite clumsily and haphazardly on a lot of foreign policy fronts," Kerry said in an interview with editors and reporters.

Kerry, who has taken the lead among Democrats in breaking out of the party's post-Sept 11 reluctance to criticize Bush on foreign affairs, said he believed a power struggle in the Bush team was at least partially responsible for mixed signals sent to both Israel and the Palestinians.

"It's a most incredible display in my judgment of a kind of amateur hour, and the reason is there is no one person in charge," Kerry said. "Colin Powell is not being allowed to be secretary of state, in my judgment. They restrain him."

12. Got my hair cut at a barber shop that reminds me of a scene from Sopranos
No shit. Barber shop/bookie joint combination type of place. Beer in the fridge, Playboy to read while your waiting, and interesting conversation. Politics came up and one middle age guy tried to blame everything on Clinton. I got loud and told him not to give me that shit. I told him that this monkey faced motherscratcher (the real word) in the White House is really good at getting this country into wars, but I want someone who can get us out of some. I was done about then, but the barber pointed his thumb at me and shook his head in agreement. The older guy had a dumbfounded look on his face as I bid them all ado.
