I Wish There Was A Web Site That Show All The FACES and Brief Bios...
... of everyone U.S. service-person who has been killed in this war.

I think too many people think of this war the same way they think of automobile accident statistics. For some reason, too many people are disinterested and calloused and the numbers they hear are meaningless.

Why does our government and media make "superstar mega media heroes" out of non-heroes like Jessica Lynch... yet they IGNORE and HIDE the body bags and flag-draped caskets coming home.

Nobody speaks a word. Funerals are quiet and hidden.

Well... we certainly are justified to feel ashamed of this war... but why are we behaving as though we are ashamed of our dead?

Just thinking out loud. You think out loud too, okay?

7. actually, I'm working on a Flash/Shockwave movie

the faces from that site, fading in one at a time, then fading out as the word "DEAD" fades up...

i'm barely thru the "A"s though... can't do it for too long at a time, just TOO sad.

5. I think because the people who send them have no connection
to the people they send and who die.It seems to be easy to kill someone you do not have to look at. I recall when my husband went on the boomer subs they asked him if he minded killing women and children. He said he was taken back and said well yes I do mind killing them and the men said Good we would not want you on this sub if you liked to kill women and children. Now that has always sounded crazy to me as that is just what that sub is going to do. Kill mostly women and children. The army is always safer than the pop of a country, in the way we go to war now.I am willing to bet we have killed 10,000 people in Iraq and we worry about 400 of our own that have died. All could have been saved as we surely could have found another way to free this country. It seems the people of Europe have learned something from all their endless war, and we have not, from all ours.

6. There are websites, but how many bother to seek them out?
The grim reality is that the average American who isn't affected doesn't think much about it. It was only because of the draft sending thousands off to their slaughter in Vietnam that the people took to the streets. Even then it took years to hammer out Nixon's "peace with honor" that ended with those airlifts out of that mess.

It is so aggravating to listen to the reich-wing owned media parroting the line that we are in Iraq defending "freedom." Such a load of bullshit. Those soldiers are nothing more than cannon fodder to fulfill PNAC - Halliburton wet dreams.
