Can anyone explain to me how "we" have the right to "arrest" a foriegn national in their own country?
Has Hussein commited any crimes against U.S citizens or property?

I'm not being nit-picky, or trying to rain on w*s parade.
I just don't understand what laws give us the right to do this.

I don't believe ANYONE of ANY party should be coming on here and saying Saddam wasn't a bad man. He killed off members of his government, he gassed the Kurds, he ordered mass graves, public killings, the list is numerous. It's safe to say the world is a better place without him. And you know what? I don't care if that sounds too "Right wing" for you- I am happy that he's gone. That doesn't mean that I don't know this ordeal in Iraq is FAR from over... FAR FAR from over. The troops are still going to die, the Iraqi people are still going to revolt (because we're still there), and the country is still going to be a mess. It's got to be fixed, and I'm curious to see how George Bush handles it.

Saddam is a bad man.
I am not "unhappy" that he was captured.
I don't think anyone is unhappy, except possibly Saddam.
But...
I think this is a small blip on the radar screen in the larger scheme of things like the never ending war on terra.
There are other bad men who are cruel dictators in control of other countries who don't happen to have huge amounts of a natural resource that we heavily depend on.

I still say the Bushies* will spin this for all it's worth. What remains to be seen is whether this has any effect on the attacks on our troops. I'm thinking not. I hope I'm wrong.

Of course it's not over, it'll never be over. The war on terrorism is a joke. you can NOT ever abolish terrorism. It is like the "war on drugs"... you can't abolish drug use, it's always going to be there no matter how many crackdowns you do. And yes, there ARE other bad cruel dictators in other countries, I don't disagree with you there. The motives were oil in this case, but it doesn't mean I can't be happy about his capture. I am unhappy that it came down to invading a country and losing so many troops. I am unhappy that we left the country a mess. I am unhappy that our troops and their people had to suffer from our invasion.

So, If I recall correctly-
You assumed I thought this was the end based on the fact I was happy Saddam had been captured, then proceded to tell me I was spewing a right wing talking point.
