Until our troops stop dying, saddam's capture is meaningless
Remember how killing his sons was going to help? This is just more drivel--look at saddam- he ain't been commandin' nothing. This is not going to stop just cause we have saddam, it will probably only get worse and there is no easy way out. The war was and is immoral and capturing Saddam is good press for * for a few days til we start losing more soldiers, unfortunately, overall, nothing has changed.

1. I agree
Your assertion that Saddam has clearly not been in charge of the resistance is a good point. Nobody over there has been in charge of the resistance, it's been almost total anarchy.

2. We're not the only ones watching CNN.
And the thing that many don't understand is while Iraqis can hate Saddam and be happy he is gone, they can also wish the same for us.

4. If Saddam had been killed in the early days of the war
but with continued resistance fighting, it wouldn't have made a difference. Capture, however, is different. You are going to see the show of shows, a veritable GOP extravaganza and cavalcade of pundits, retired Generals, middle eastern experts, an entire industry crank up for a major media spectable and make the Saddam trial the trial of the millenium. Witnesses testifying to the death and torture of children, for example, will drive Kobe, Jackson, and Laci into oblivion. Reports on dead soldiers will be relegated to the back of the newspaper. Bush will milk the Saddam trial for every ounce of political juice that he can. His control of Saddam's trial through L. Paul Bremer's complete control of the Iraqi Governing Council will ensure that Saddam will only be able to mount a minimal defense and have no opportunity to put Bush on trial for his support of Saddam's regime, such efforts being deemed irrelevant by this forthcoming kangaroo court.
