Dean's response on video...he says the president deserves the day.
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 10:19 PM by madfloridian
I think he does a good job speaking from Florida. It is almost as though he is saying it is ok for Bush to have a day to celebrate....I like the way he did that. He is defining the time limit perhaps.

He does a good job on his response. He deserves credit.

Scroll down for the video.

ON EDIT:
I must clarify. The article on that page is not very nice toward our candidates. However, the video is excellent.

I did NOT attack anyone, just posted the link.

1. If he thinks it's a day to celebrate, isn't that conceding the..
issue of ousting Saddam. That's how I read it.

2. Did you listen to the video?
The article is very snide toward all. I wish you would listen to the video.

3. Yes! I have a copy of it! Yes! I saw it on CSPAN...
Road to the White House, which I recorded. I'm burning the DVD this very minute.

5. This was his response to MSNBC from his Florida trip....
I don't think it is the Road one. This was just done this afternoon. I see a Road to the White House video, but nothing is there. Do you have a link so I can compare?

12. it may be the same one
tonight they had comments about the capture from Clark, Dean and Lieberman from today. I thought they said from West Palm Beach for Dean.

13. Right. On CSPAN, they included the remarks of Dean, Clark..
and Lieberman just before Road to the White House. I didn't even read the article. Who cares what they say? I'm going by what I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. I'm simply asking, what does Dean think is worthy of celebration? Period.

20. And why does Clark say the world is safer without Saddam on CNN?
I doubt he really feels that way. You don't have to get ugly.

7. Ah, no-- He said that it was Bush's* day to celebrate.
Watch the video. He is glad Hussein is no longer around, yes. But pay attention to what he does and does not say.

It's revealing.

11. No, he'll give Bush 24 hrs to celebrate this small victory
and then attack him tomorrow, probably indirectly in his foreign policy speech.

Refreshing actually, because together with Clark, he seems to be one of the few candidates who refrained from belittling someone or something today.

6. He did not say the world was safer with Saddam gone.
At least he did not say that. I complimented Clark twice today on his CNN interview. I do hope you are kidding now. I can't tell today, with all our candidates falling in line to be good.

Oh, well, maybe you are kidding.

9. Dean gave the day to Bush
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 10:34 PM by Jerseycoa
Clark gave the day to the troops. But they both are saying it doesn't change a thing. That's good.

15. No. Dean FIRST commended the troops
repeatedly, and at the end of the clip, he said he'd give Bush the day to celebrate- iow, even though they DIFFER on policy, he was laying off today.

16. I am impressed with the civility of Dean!!!..
Yes, catching Saddam was important to many Americans
to quelch their "fears".

But a majority of DUrs know the truth. Yet the Majority
of Americans only know the Disney News of the Networks.

So Dean was brilliant to respond to the event as a "mission accomplished", and he is correct in saying there can be other avenues
to take other than slaughtering thousands of innocent people.

He knows when and when not to pick his battles.

High class......nothing but high class!!

19. I thought so as well. Thanks.
He is not always the bulldog type, he is quite intelligent and tactful when he wishes.

He has the skill of inserting the knife very gently, making one wonder.....did he really just say that?
