All these garbage posts because they found a man in a hole...
Edited on Sun Dec-14-03 11:10 PM by TruthIsAll
You Dean bashers, you Clark bashers, you Kerry bashers - give it up already!

We are all in this TOGETHER to defeat Bush. Focus on your real enemy -BushCo. Focus on what got us to the sorry mess we are in today..

Cut out the negative posts. Rove is laughing right now. His infiltrators are doing a great job. Flame the bastards.

Bash Bush, dammit. And don't stop. I've been doing it for two years. Know this. Bush pales in stature to every Dem.

This is not about Liberal vs. Green vs. Moderate vs. Conservative.
It's all about Democracy vs. BushCo/Whoremedia/Diebold Fascism.

Nothing else matters.

I'm getting very sick watching these posts accumulate. All of a sudden, Bush has become unbeatable? Because they dug Saddam out of a hole? Such Bushit!

Fight the Rovian spin; don't embrace it. And kick the bejeesus out of any infiltrator who dares to take US off message.

Flame! Go right ahead, you front-runners! Flame!

6. I haven't watched any news since...
almost 6:00 this morning while getting ready for work. I'm sure FAUX has been having a nonstop orgasm all day long, and that's something I can live without seeing!

11. that's what I tried, but
the Steelers-Jets game turned out to be a bizarre mockery of football, rather than football itself. At least from my pov as a Steelers fan.

At least you got something positive out of it. :toast:

thank you

everyone needs to remember these few things

Shrub senior was at 90% this time in 1991.

Troops are still dying, the economy is tanking no matter what the pundits say (the DOW above 10k just means that the rich are getting richer)
We're losing jobs every day, people are uninsured and begining to see through chimpy's bullshit.

This is going to spike his approval ratings to about 60% for a few weeks at most (Xmas shopping will give him the economy illusion ontop of this)

By mid-January people will hate him again.

saaddam means nothing

7. Didn't we just go through all this a few weeks ago with the fake turkey
I couldn't believe the gloom and doom over the photo op with the plastic bird...and today it's even worse, although two candidates who have opposed the Iraq venture, Dean and Clark, have said it changes nothing in their position on the war. Why should it change ours? why do we lose courage when we have tough men like these on our side?

12. Oh, I shan't flame you.
I tried a 'Bash Bush Instead' thread last night, but that little sentiment was thrown out of DU as soon as the news about Saddam got out. Now I'm going to sign off and listen to one of my favorite songs, in honor of today's events. BTW, I'm one of the few who thinks Saddam's capture is going to cause quite a quandry for Bush.

Down In A Hole Lyrics

Bury Me Softly In This Womb
I Give This Part Of Me For You
Sand Rains Down And Here I Sit
Holding Rare Flowers
In A Tomb.....In Bloom

Down In A Hole And I Don't Know
If I Can Be Saved
See My Heart I Decorate It
Like A Grave
You Don't Understand Who They
Thought I Was Supposed To Be
Look At Me Now A Man
Who Won't Let Himself Be

Down In A Hole, Losin' My Soul
Down In A Hole, Losin' Control
I'd Like To Fly
But My Wings Have Been So Denied

Down In A Hole And They've Put All
The Stones In Their Place
I've Eaten The Sun So My Tongue
Has Been Burned Of The Taste
I Have Been Guilty
Of Kicking Myself In The Teeth
I Will Speak No More
Of My Feelings Beneath

Oh I Want To Be Inside Of You

Down In A Hole, Losin' My Soul
Down In A Hole, Feelin' So Small
Down In A Hole, Losin' My Soul
Down In A Hole, Out Of Control

I'd Like To Fly
But My Wings Have Been So Denied

13. thanks for the post
I do feel much better about today's events after (selectively) reading GD.

The masses don't remember anything for more than a couple months; why will this be any different?

15. Funny, isn't it? It's almost like finding bigfoot
It may very well not matter much at all.

It's going to have ramifications, but we won't see anything that we wouldn't have seen anyway.

There will be a poll and market uptick. There will be some sales increase for the retailers, but I'll bet a lot of folks skipped some shopping today to watch all the hooplah, so who knows how big the ripple will be.

It may hasten the civil war, but what's going to happen is basically what would have happened anyway; it's just going to change the timetable. There couldn't have been too much serious belief that he was going to come back, and the locals can now concentrate on the factionalism and mayhem.

It's also one less trump card for the junta to play, and any version of their handling of this has its pitfalls. Already, they're being ultra-cautious about their predictions, and this is hurting them, since it calls their claim of being the grownups who actually know what's going on into further question. Fine by me.

Who it'll help and who it'll hurt in the campaign is hard to say; the only one that I can see to be damaged so far is Lieberman for his incendiary ditto-headish remark about how Hussein would still be in power if Dean had his way. That just sounds pissy, and I know I'm not alone with that.

Ah well, that's entertainment.

20. I was thinkin' sorta "unabomber"
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 12:31 AM by PurityOfEssence
He had that Ted Kaczynski look, and the snappy beard...

All of the media hyperbole about him looking defeated and disoriented didn't ring true in the least. He looked calm, sort of disgusted and resigned to the situation, but not the least bit scared or humiliated. I'm sure he is many of those things, but he's hardly a puddle of tears.

Subtlety schmutlety; all our enemies are deplorable on all counts.
