The 3 things to watch for this week......
Monday: Sen. John Breaux of Louisiana, will decide if he will retire.

The Skinny: If Breuax retire, expect Rep. Chris John (D)and
Rep. David Vitter (R)

Wednesday: The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, will likely make their decision on Texas Re-redistricing

The Skinny: This is likely to go to the Supreme Court.
The Double Skinny: The House Delegation in Texas will go from 17-15 (D) to 22-10 (R).

By the end of the Week: John Thune will announce whether he will run against Sen. Tom Daschle, or run for his old House seat.

The Skinny: Either way the GOP loses. If Thune runs agaisnt Daschle the GOP will lose a House Seat. If Thune runs for the House, the Daschle will get a free ride.

The Double Skinny: The inside scoop is that Thune will sit 2004, giving Demcorats and early Christmas present.

3. From what I hear
Jindal hasn't ruled it out. I don't think he will run though. I think if Breaux retires, the Repuke candidate will be David Vitter. He's my so-called "Representative" and he is very popular here in Repuke City where I live. Not sure how he'd do in a statewide election. It would depend on the Democrat challenger but I haven't heard any buzz on who that might be if the seat opens up.
