This behavior and blatant cronyism is a betrayal of the public trust. Fortunately, I think more and more people are seeing what is really going on here and are learning the truth from other sources.

Journalists have always hobnobbed with whoever is in power. What is different is the complacency of the press and the total power of the corporate moguls who control it.

It's like an office party. You invite your clients to your office party and they invite you. That's good old fashioned ass kissing, but it's not responsible for the media brainwash we see today.

No one, absolutely no one, gets to come to their parties unless they are a royal asskisser of the highest degree. In the past, this type of favoratism wasn't so blatant. Now we live in the days when the POTUS announces to the world that only countries who were pro war will get any contracts in Iraq. They handle the media in the same exact way. Only journalists who tow the line have any chance to get such a coveted invite. I bet Helen Thomas doesn't get invited to these parties anymore.
