Why Catching Saddam Wasn't Worth nearly 500 American Lives
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 09:20 AM by CreekDog
The war was just as unnecessary today as it was before Saddam's capture.

1)There are no WMD's to have fought the war over

2)The casualties were nearly all on the US side (not counting the Iraqis) thanks to bungling of the diplomatic effort by GWB

3)Thanks to 3 car bombings in the past three days, we know that Saddam is no longer our real enemy and that a new and unknown enemy is still capable of killing our soldiers

4)If we leave Iraq tomorrow, the country will be in shambles and will pose a greater terrorist threat to us than before the war

5)If we don't leave, we face the same dangers that have been killing and maiming our soldiers since we started the war

6)If a genuine threat arises in another country or part of the world, we are now stretched so thin in military power as to be much weaker in responding to it

7)Due to our committment to Iraq, the chances that we will respond with nuclear weapons to another threat is much greater, since the level of troop availability is now lower.

8)The chances of a civilian draft are higher than in 30 years, Iraq made the chance of a draft increase rather than decrease

I'm sure everyone can add to this list. Funny how the media cannot come around to report what Saddam's capture hasn't changed!

2. How many have died since "Mission Accomplished"?
Saddam hasn't had any power in anything for the pas 8 months. He's been too busy working on his own survival.
