Can the candidate you support do the job you do?
I overheard someone say once that he would at least like to think that the President of the US of A were at least as competent to do the job he does.

I thought that was funny. Yes, I don't think Bush could do ANY job well enough without getting fired. He seems really lazy, and he probably has ADS.

Do you think the candidate you support is capable of doing just about anything well, or do you think your candidate probably has a few personality traits which would mean that he or she might get fired from your job.

1. My job is writing advertising copy.
Bush couldn't do it in a million years. Dean could do it in his sleep.

2. Since we have a few lawyers, a general and a doctor
I would say that any of them would be quite capable of web development given a little training up.

Bush would not be, his dyslexia would inhibit him from learning the easiest programming.

3. Technical writing
I'm sure Clarke, Edwards, Dean, perhaps Lieberman, any of them could do it...

But *, you actually have to.... you know, read things and stuff... ;-)

4. With training, I'm sure he could...
Not right off the bat, though...lots of specialized knowledge involved. But I'm sure Clark would be a quick study.

As for Bush -- well, I think he'd probably like to just eliminate my job if he could (I'm an archaeologist studying human origins).

5. Would Wesley Clark be a good sports writer?
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 03:11 PM by 5thGenDemocrat
I would think so. Can he type?
John
It's important that you can type if you're a sports writer.

6. I teach a foreign language
Clark speaks how many?

I don't think AWOL could teach the language he speaks, whatever it is.

And it doesn't look like he could teach English, his first 'foreign' language.

I am not sure he would be a great homemaker.

I deleted my first message.

11. Let's see for Bush...I have several different responsibilities...
...as a city planner.

Grant Management? Nope. Too many numbers...

GIS Analysis and production? Nope. Too technical...

Code writing & research? Nope. Too many words...

Public presentations (As well as to committees)? Nope. You've heard him speak, yes? Plus I don't have the luxury of a teleprompter.

Bush do my job? No way.

The Dem candidates? No problem.

16. I do too! Let's see:
Pour a beer...yep!

Open a bottle of liquor, including those pesky Makers Mark ones...yep.

Continue standing after one is completely shitfaced from drinking...apparently- (he would have the bar to hold on to...kind of like a podium)

The ability to give his bestest buds cheaper tabs...yep!

Having people who would come in happy to see him because he has something they want...yep!

The ability to throw out anyone he doesn't like just because he's in that mood...yep.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I see that he is completely qualified to bartend.

19. Heh. But you know what? I'm NOT!
I'd be a terrible bartender darling. I think multiple tabs alone would confuse the shit outta me. I think you're giving WAY too much credit to shrubbie.

12. I'm an internal auditor...
in the Juvenile Corrections system in Texas. I think any of the Dem candidates could likely do my job with some training. It requires good communication skills, an inquisitive mind to go digging for information, and the ability to look at the "facts" and figure out what they mean. I think any of the Dems have the smarts for it. But chimpy - no fucking way.

14. Yep!
I'm a lawyer, so several of the candidates could easily do my job. Actually, they have more experience and would probably be better at it. I certainly know better than to compare my legal skills to Edwards.

15. Yes and No
I teach and I believe they could all enter get the job. Being good at it is relative and can only be decided after watching them in a classroom. (off today for a 20 inch snow storm)

We also own a gallery. My husband and I both graduated in Art. I question whether any of the candidates can draw or paint.

if he applied for a job. Try it with a business person you know, and note the look on his/her face.
