I confess, I am a Clark supporter.
Beyond that, it occured to me that traditions at each of the military academys promote integrity in the candidates. They must be honest, faithful, duty bound, all of that. They certainly may not lie, cheat, or steal. So lots of guys start out and some guys don't make it and sure, its a virorous academic experience too, but in the end I expect this of the graduates. Not very many people of low integrity make it to graduation. I think of Dwight Eisenhower as an example and of course Jimmy Carter is as fine an example of high personal integrity as can be found, I think Wesley Clark is too. That's all I wanted to say.
I don't think the academy experience builds integrity, whatever that is, but I think it acts as a pretty effective filter to get rid of people, however intelligent, out of the system.
