The Saddam Effect, or the lack thereof.
Many people here were panicking yesterday on what I thought was just good old fashioned positive news that had little political or economic bearing. People were saying that Dean was doomed, the stock market would rally and kill our economic arguments, and that Bush would get a ten or fifteen point bounce. 24 hours later, it is clear that none of that is about to happen. It is time people eat their crow for panicking and plunging into depression.

1. Yep
- Stock market indicies DOWN.
- Bush approval bounce is 4 points while his reelect number declines 2 points.
- Dean makes his best foreign policy speech ever.

Will the chicken littles have a little more backbone next time?

2. Let's also force them to eat their crow. They deserve it for trying to
spread defeat and depression among us.

3. I'll take my crow raw
I deserve it. Due to a couple of discussions with family members and people at my church, I really got depressed yesterday and posted some serious drivel.

I apologise and will accept whatever criticism people may have.

5. That's okay. We all make mistakes.
But see to it that it doesn't happen again. ;) Remember, think positive.

4. We can at least take
a sigh of relief. It appears that we need to give Americans more credit. After all, they did elect Al Gore.

6. Saddam was out of power and not coordinating the attacks...
It's great we got the bastard, but it doesn't really change the situation much.

7. mostly Repug spoilers me thinks
I paused for a moment while eating my oatmeal, turned to my wife and said, hey they got Saddam and kept eating my oatmeal.
my wife"how do they know its him, he's got so many body doubles"

Me," I didn't think of that, but they found him in a fucking hole so obviously he hasn't been coordinating the violent resistance that's killed over 400 soldiers, injured 5000"

And to our brave soldiers stuck over there thinking they might be coming home since we caught Saddam, NOT!

To "panicky" dems thinking this is some kind of turning point for Bush, slap yourself, then slap yourself again. Car bombs are going off left and right, figuring out how to "TRY" Saddam is already turning into a clusterfuck. Which just shows us, WHY WASN'T THERE A "WHAT DO WE DO IF WE FIND SADDAM PLAN?"

Shit, with that statement alone to letters to the editor we can make Bush Inc look like the idiots they are.

8. When are these thugs going to learn that their "stunts" are backfiring.
Tearing down the SH statue - Uh, a little too early on that one
The Top Gun stunt and Mission Accomplished - backfired big time
The rubber turkey and *'s visit to the airport cafeteria to a select group of troops - the others were eating out of boxes.

Capture of SH - Right before Xmas (not too obvious). Are we really supposed to believe that he was in a hole w/ no cell phone. He had plenty of money. Someone PUT him there. This will not be a winner either according to the latest polls. Gallup poll reveals that most voters say the capture has no effect on their vote.

Stock market - down, down and down

Mark my words, SH will NEVER stand trial. He has the goods on BFEE. He will conveniently die before.

The big question that will not go away because it was precisely the reason we invaded Iraq, is "Where are the WMDs?"

This is getting laughable and Karl Rove is supposed to be a genius?
