If Iraq improves along with the economy X will have a harder time

No matter who Bush goes up against * this will be the case.

There are many variables here to consider.

Economy
Jobs
Terrorism
Iraq
Health Care
Social Security
Childrens issues
Education
Federal Deficit

and so on...

The War will not the ONLY issue in the coming election.

Additionally, the Dems are all better then * on the issues. Every top Dem in this race would be as electable as the next, depending on the circumstances.

We have record:

Poverty
Job loss
Deficits

and so on...

I must be honest, I am a Dean supporter but I have a certain respect others who have not faltered on the issues. And, I think that will be the 'bottom' line for voters. Who has the gutz to speak their mind on the issues? Who takes a strong stand? Who's positions are clear?

It's not gonna be, who was right and who was wrong, because there is always 'grey' and 'spin' in the game of politics. In other words, no one is ever right or wrong in this 'game' folks, that's the bottom line.

Bush can only focus on so many issues at once. His entire cabinet is focused on and has expertise only in foreign policies...even spider-hole Cheney is more of an international businessman than a domestic type.

We have to focus on winning the war on terror. But what happens after that? What happens after we catch OBL? What do we do at home?

Bush will have no answers...that's where Dean can do the job! I just wish that Clark would run with him!

4. Well, Joe Klein said tonight on Zahn that he had info that the Shia

leader, Sistani, may be willing to forgo direct elections in favor of the "caucus"system if the UN is involved and that Kofi Annan may be willing to get involved after begging off. If this happens it would be a major political breakthrough and really hasten the exit by the US....give cover.

So, we could very well be screwed if it APPEARS that there is some stability coming to Iraq...enough for us to pull out troops....just in time for the election.

It smelled more like the lead in tomorrows TPM than a story covered on CNN.

If it happens - and a deal gets brokered tween Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani and Sec Gen Kofi Annan - and it smells anything like what Bush and Bremer have been grumping about - then they'd be insane not to jump at it.
