Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard Endorses Dean
Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) Endorses Governor Howard Dean for President

LOS ANGELES-Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard tonight endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Governor Howard Dean, M.D., citing his strong stance on national security issues and protecting the country against terrorism.

"It is my pleasure today to announce my support for Governor Howard Dean. After meeting with him this afternoon in Los Angeles and reviewing his stand on the issues that matter most to Americans, I am enthusiastically backing his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination," the congresswoman said.

"He is committed to preventing terrorism at home by strengthening local law enforcement and making needed security improvements at our nation's airports and seaports. He understands that protecting our country does not mean sacrificing important individual freedoms or marginalizing hardworking immigrants. He also knows that defending our country and our people can best be achieved through ongoing peacekeeping efforts and international cooperation. For all of these reasons, Howard Dean is the person with the knowledge and the principles to lead our nation through uncertain and challenging times. He is the person with the vision and conviction to restore prosperity here at home and much needed stability abroad," she continued.

"I thank Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard for her strong endorsement tonight. She understands the importance of protecting our country while simultaneously protecting our civil liberties. I look forward to working with her as we continue to build the greatest grassroots campaign presidential politics has ever seen," Governor Dean said.

3. Freddie, Do You Have a Count?
Just curious what the latest delegate count is. (And it is all about the delegates, of course.)

Thanks.

5. Boswell Pretty Close to That
Leonard Boswell is in a fairly tough district -- no gimme by any means. Although he has not officially endorsed and will not do so before the Iowa Caucuses, let's just say that if he writes any more Dean Blog entries he'll have to retire from Congress for a full time job. :7

That's off the top of my head.

Unfortunately there aren't too many competitive Congressional districts any more. Wish there were more.

8. now why would people even representing safe districts
want to support someone who can't possibly win and will pull down other house candidates? It is to their advantage to win back the house so they have more power and say.
