Will Wes Clark form a "Department Of Time Travel?
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 11:08 AM by mzmolly
"I still believe in e=mc², but I can't believe that in all of human history, we'll never ever be able to go beyond the speed of light to reach where we want to go," said Clark. "I happen to believe that mankind can do it."~ Wes Clark.

Though I found this on a parody site, I do fear what the RW would do with this information in a general election.

1. I think Parody sites are pretty Kewl, at least you know your message
is getting out. They couldn't develop a parody site without knowing your message.

I love the site. I think it is funny!

...but I beleive mankind can achieve FTL as well. Of course, that statement says NOTHING about time travel. Of course Drudge and his fellow right wing hacks take a film they saw in grade school and 'extrapolate' Clarks meaning. Yeah, maybe he can go back in time and keep Bush from stealing Florida...

8. The follow up to the Wired article
http://www.pc-radio.com/clark-timetravel.html

On September 30, I published an article at Wired News entitled Clark Campaigns at Light Speed.

The article reported on remarks made by Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark during a campaign event Sept. 27 in New Castle, New Hampshire. At the event, Clark stated his belief that humans will someday be able to travel faster than the speed of light.

Due to a faulty understanding of physics on my part, I originally reported that Clark had professed a belief in the possibility of time travel. While some experts have previously said that travelling faster than light implies time travel, Clark in fact did not specifically profess an interest in time travel.

After several readers e-mailed me about this aspect of my article, later on Sept. 30 I revised the online version of the story to avoid suggesting Clark had advocated research into time travel. (The quotes attributed to him, of course, remained unchanged.)

###
Let the pukes try to bash Clark on this, the fact of the matter is Clark never claimed it, it was a writer's bad understanding of physics.

9. Somehow
I don't think the man who was entrusted with this assignment:

Apr. 1994 - June 1996 Director for Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

is particularly vulnerable to accusations that he is a weirdo flake. I would love for the Republicans to go after Wes with that one. It would be fun to watch them make total fools out of themselves.

And if you keep using thread headers like that one, I would be concerned over how you might be perceived by others.

11. Don't worry, turnabout is fair play other Clark supporters posted Dean
parody site threads. Alls fair in love and war. Clark is a big boy and we are all big boys and girls. We can take a liitle criticism and parody.
Just remember at first they were ignoring Clark. Now, they aren't. That is a good thing.

For people to take their time to mess with you they must be concerned for some reason. I take it that the race is still in swing and that Wes must be gaining some speed.

So parody sites don't bother me or the vast number of Clarkies!

"An important clue was provided by Wes Clark ... Wes offered proof that abductions were only demonic encounters. He said several of cis "abductees" had stopped their abduction experiences by screaming
"Jesus is my savior" when aliens were next seen."

Though I'm certain this is not our Wes, I doubt the Republicans are above using it in the coming election ;) Then again, they wouldn't want to lose the corner on the Jesus market, so ???

The only think keeping us from moving from point A to point B before light can is our stubbornly insisting that we have go through all the points in between.

30. Actually, it may be possible, sort of...
I read an intresting article some years back in a reputable science magazine. I take Scientific American and Discover so it was probably one of those but I'm not sure.

It is definately true that you can't travel faster than light in you local time-space reference, if the local reference is itself moving, then you can go faster than light. The article talked about creating a wrinkle (Warp?)that would be fast moving, (Warp speed?) in the continuim and riding in that wrinkle. Sort of like surfing the cosmos.

Wish I could remember where I read it. So Clark isn't that far out of it.

Even if he is off base on that one, it at least shows that he has a mind that will look at new ideas, that is able to think outside the paradigm, and that in and of itself is a good thing.

e=mc squared simply translates into:

economy=master card squared. Borrow and spend, they understand.

That there science larnin' stuff tho ain't approved.

What will the "RW do with this information"? Probably spin like this:

"Al Gore thought he invented the internet. Wesley Clark thinks he invented the speed of light. Is he an elitist commie bastard like that Albert "pinko" Einstein?"

Just a guess.

38. I once started a thread about the neo-con moles around Clark
and how he would be harmful to the Democratic Party in the long run.
But I stated my reasons specifically in terms of his military past, he's talked about his neo-conservative friends in DoD, it is contamination by their influence in DC and military think tanks that leads to pork and war IMO.
It would be a nice thing to see a Dean/Clark ticket. Dean will beat Bush next year regardless of running mate. Me, I'm smelling the coffee yet voting for Dennis Kucinich in the February 17th, 2004 Wisconsin Primary.

Howard Dean has always been my second choice. I beware of neo-con moles around Clark. Militarism is a huge component of fascism IMHO.
I don't hate Clark by any means and would even like to see him as VP on Dean ticket, but then again I don't belong to any political party myself but I do hate fascists in Republican Party.

41. That quote's been played out on FAUX already.
I think Clark said that a couple of weeks after his campaign started, and Fox was the only station to pick up on it - for a while, they'd show that quote every time they mentioned Clark, even on completely unrelated topics. I guess it didn't stick.

47. We're ALL Time Travelers!
We're all traveling into the future at the same rate, ignoring relativistic differences. Some of us are being dragged kicking and screaming and some of us are pushing the envelope ... but we're all time travelers.

Every time we look at a star we're looking into the past. The Hubble telescope looks into the past more than most.

Government and industry and ordinary people invest a lot in "time travel" ... planning, scheduling, projecting, betting, predicting, investing, and insuring just to mention a few investments. Then there's archeology, history, storage, journaling, photographs, documentaries, and all kinds of investments in the past. $Billions and $billions.
