The $500 ice cream cone.
I just watched Lieberman, now watching Scott McLellan.

They are just hammering to death the meme "the world is a better place with Saddam Hussein captured."

I keep repeating to myself the phrase "$500 ice cream cone."

Refered to Saddam (or more specifically his capture) as a $500 ice cream cone.

Who doesn't like ice cream? Yummy. Wouldn't you like to have some? Sure! Everyone agrees ice cream cones are great.

What if i offered you one that cost $500?

That's Saddam.

On edit: This is a critical couter-meme. Yes Saddam was dangerous. A little (Bill Maher called him the "Mayor of Baghdad"). But did the minor threat he posed warrant $200 billion and the better part of the most powerful, technological army on earth bringing him down?

I want "$500 ice cream cone" to be on the lips of every media pundit and Dean supporter. Ice cream is good but not THAT good! It's just not worth it.

4. Thanks for the 'splanation
I thought you were talking about Halliburton and their food (cough, trough) line for our troops there for a second.

8. I'm pretty sure gulliver gets the credit
I think he (she?) was the first to use it here. Great way to make the point quickly, isn't it?
