My message to Gephardt (and soon all other) campaigns...
(others can write similar letters to all the Dem campaigns. This Dem 'smear each other' crap is really beginning to turn me off - which is exactly what that type of Dem vs Dem smear tactic does...)
---------------my letter------------
Any Democratic Presidential Candidate that participates in the type of smear campaign such as the one currently against Howard Dean is NOT presidential material and I will NOT support her/him. I might have considered supporting Dick Gephardt, but I will NOT NOW. I now remain undecided as to who I will support.

I only know ***I will NOT support contenders who choose to criticize each other instead of George Bush.***

Democratic Presidential contenders MUST expend their time and energy criticizing GEORGE BUSH - NOT each other!

If we are going to wrench the White House away from George in 2004, Democrats HAVE GOT TO GET THEIR PRIORITIES IN ORDER and stop slamming each other. SLAM GEORGE BUSH instead.

God knows we've got plattersfull of issues on which to criticize BUSH - **DO IT** and leave each other alone - or lose votes. Period.

I'm not a 'Deanie' but Dean said it - Democrats ARE BETTER THAN THIS and I'd appreciate it if our candidates would ACT like it and stop smearing each other.

This helps no one and does NOT get Bu$h out of the White House.

STOP IT NOW! As a voter, I will NOT support any Dem candidate who participates in the smear of another Dem candidate - including Dean.

GROW UP and get your priorities in order:

#1: GET GEORGE BUSH OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE
#2: every thing else comes second.

Clues on sale on EBay 3 for a buck. Get yours TODAY.

Sincerely,

1. are you saying that candidates cannot have disagreements?
or that they can't put up commercials like the Osama one? I don't approve of the Osama one, but there will always be disagreements between the campaigns.

3. disagreements and respectful discussion of policy diffs OK....
....but yes, the Osama commercial is definitely disgusting and a complete turnoff. That is what I don't want to see more of in this race.

If I should rephrase the letter, I am willing to do that...any help is appreciated, as every Democratic prez campaign is going to get one from me....

5. Ohhhhhh a warning Dick......
I'm sure Dick is scared by a warning from a Dean supporter....

I think they'll be screaming this way all the way down the rabbit hole after Feb. 3

7. When does Clark get back from the Hauge?
Edited on Wed Dec-17-03 12:31 PM by Patriot_Spear
Haven't heard from him in a week- do you think it will be much longer?

it's hard to run a campaign without a candidate. How long do you think Biush* can keep him there?

11. i'm not so arrogant as to think Dick
would be 'scared' by such a sentiment. However, it can't hurt to let Dem candidates know what Dem voters think of their infightint. And, if he is behind the ad, they might consider that sentiment before putting out any more like it.

6. I agree with you
I share your sentiment 100%. At the risk of making myself sound like a total nutcase, though, I'd like the float the possibility that the whole anti-Dean thing could still be a Karl Rove operation. Maybe I'm totally off-base, but it seems to me that it would be suicide for one or more of the Dem candidates to have put up that website and that ad. Because, 1) it attacks the front-runner and 2) it creates just the feelings you express toward other Dems.

First, just because the guy whose name is on the website gave $2,000 to Gephardt doesn't mean he's connected with the campaign. Lots of people have given Gephardt $2,000 I imagine. The former Kerry guy could be a disgruntled former employee. We know there was some bad blood in that campaign when there was turn-over recently. He could be *trying* to give Kerry a black-eye. The unions could have been duped into contributing toward the ad by being told they were paying for pro-Gephardt ads. Now, their support of Gephardt has been damaged.

I really think Karl Rove could have orchestrated this. Think about it, the only real losers in this whole operation are Democrats! I can't believe any of our candidates are stupid enough to have done this. It's lose-lose all the way.

8. Dean has a glass jaw and it's far better to expose his weakness now
There's nothing the Dean campaign can do to counter the "Coward" Dean label so they attack the other campaigns "for doing Rove's work".

10. could be Rove and I wouldn't put it past him...
...but it can't hurt to 'give notice' to the Dem contenders in case they are behind it. It certain has Repugnant overtones...

Also, if it wasn't Geppy or whoever, why doesn't Geppy come out and announce that his campaign isn't behind the ad? He could do that and if he doesn't know its origin, he could say so...even going so far as to say that he suspects it was orchestrated by Rove & Co....
