11. No Tin Hats...No Money

IE America was being funded by various unions that have pulled the plug and that's what's calling the shots here...can't pay people, maintain the servers and bandwidth without the cash.

Sad to say other "Liberal Radio" ventures don't appear to be going well either for a variety of reasons (and it's Elephants "in our tent" not outside like the Clear Channels that are a lot of the problem)...IE was a noble attempt but either was too soon for its time (using IP & Internet broadcast technology) or too obscure (no over-the-air 50,000 affiliates) to endure.

As an informed observer in this area I see a tremendous disconnect between the idealogues who want "Liberal Radio" and operating a network as a business. Clear Channel subsidizes their talk networks with their Country and Christmas Music and Concerts et al...no such thing exists on the left, but that's an entirely different topic.

As a Chicagoan who enjoyed listening to Mike Malloy when he was on WLS, and have regularly checked his IE show out, I know he'll survive this latest wave on the broadcast beach.

If Mike Malloy is booted off of ie America this week (Merry Christmas!) I will be doing my level best to help find him some sort of regular radio gig, and I want you all to do the same.

This is where we can shine.

Networking!

It would not have to be a radio network that hires Mike. It could be an independant talk station, a pure internet talk station, or a satellite radio provider. Anything that can pay Mike and Kathy a living wage and keep them on the air and on the net is what we want.

We MUST know some people who can help with this.

Think of all the people you know... Who do they know? Anybody in Radio? Anybody with money?

If I could come up with $150,000 I would hire them myself just to do shows for White Rose Society, but this is like 100x more money than the total I have raised for White Rose's operations.

Time for you Limosine Liberals to come up with some cash...
