Bush's failure to secure ports
Kerry hits Bush all the time. The threads drop like rocks. But I'll try again. Dec 17

"After a boat tour of Portsmouth Harbor, NH, John Kerry ripped into George Bush's failure to secure America's ports and prevent terrorists from obtaining Weapons of Mass Destruction.

"President Bush says we can't afford to fund homeland security. I say we can't afford not to. The Bush Administration is tinkering while the clock on homeland security is ticking," Kerry said.

"We have affordable, existing technology that could allow sensors to be placed on containers which could track their position, signal when and where they were entered, and detect whether they contain radioactive or dangerous chemicals," Kerry said.

Kerry also emphasized the importance of stopping WMD from reaching our shores in the first place, removing potential bomb making materials from the world's most vulnerable sites, tracking down and securing existing nuclear weapons, and stopping the development of chemical and biological arsenals."

The plan to secure ports & prevent terrorists from gaining WMD.

1. Thanks.
Kerry is on this! He needs to keep pointing this out.

I think our ports are the most vulnerable area, and Shrub has done nothing. I guess his advisers have told him that Al Queda only does "big" attacks every ten years, so it'll be on someone else's watch, so why should he care?

2. Bear in mind, Gary Hart endorsed Kerry. Noone has a better grasp
on national security in regard to anti-terror measures than Gary Hart. It was the Hart-Rudman report that Bush failed to implement to prevent 9-11 from happening.

4. It is ridiculous, partisan politics to expect Bush to protect ports
When he fully expects to spend all taxpayer dollars to Halliburton instead. Come on people, Bush does have priorities.
And us peons are not one of them.

6. I'm really pleased about this
and it is a very important issue that needs to be brought up. Good for Kerry and good for you for posting it.
