Why our foriegn policy must change.
Donald H. Rumsfeld went to Baghdad in March 1984 with instructions to deliver a private message about weapons of mass destruction: that the United States' public criticism of Iraq for using chemical weapons would not derail Washington's attempts to forge a better relationship, according to newly declassified documents.

<snip>

Privately, however, the administrations of Reagan and George H.W. Bush sold military goods to Iraq, including poisonous chemicals and deadly biological agents, worked to stop the flow of weapons to Iran, and undertook discreet diplomatic initiatives, such as the two Rumsfeld trips to Baghdad, to improve relations with Hussein.

<snip>

"The dark corners of diplomacy deserve some scrutiny, and people working in places like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and Uzbekistan deserve this kind of scrutiny, too, because the relations we're having with dictators today will produce Saddams tomorrow."

<snip>

Shortly after Hussein became deputy to the president in 1969, then-British Ambassador H.G. Balfour Paul cabled back his impressions after a first meeting: "I should judge him, young as he is, to be a formidable, single-minded and hard-headed member of the Ba'athist hierarchy, but one with whom, if only one could see more of him, it would be possible to do business."

Our policies of today build our enemies of tomorrow. We need to stop this. This is another reason why we must unite and win in 2004.

1. Our Policies
Our policies seem to turn our friends and business partners into enemies, time and again. Isn't that special?!?!?

What are we doing wrong? Could it be that our policies are geared to profit-making relationships rather than a good neighbor policy? Could it be that our relationships turn sour because most of the profiteers, are, at their core, bad people?

Which foreign partner is going to be the next enemy? Putin?

Meanwhile, thousands of innocent bystanders RIP from the hell unleashed through our foreign policies. Just like in the bloody past of our human history, profiteers and those who do business with them, are once and again, the rulers of the human world.

4. Unbelievable...
Can you imagine, just IMAGINE, what's in the Reagan Papers concerning all this?

Imagine if the Reagan papers would have been released when they were supposed to be.

No wonder the Carlyle-Halliburton Administration resealed them despite appearances of having something to hide...

They do.

5. This and so much more
All the central american stuff was going down then as well. Interestingly the more you read the more you find that it was all connected.

Remember the arms for hostages, and the 'air america' arms for drugs for more money for arms for the contras bit? Nixon and Mitchell ran the dealership buying the Romanian arms for the contras.
