Two things the Medicare bill affects....cancer drugs and drugs from Canada
I knew that but Dean brought it out in his speech tonight.

I just feel that there is a lot more to this, as apparently oncologists will be greatly affected. No one is really sure now of the full impact.

The halt to buying drugs from Canada will have a huge impact on many seniors. They are already shutting down pharmacists here who do that, using any guise they can think of.

I am very ashamed of our congressmen for passing this fiasco. He is bringing out a lot of this lately, and it is good. This is not meant to be a political post, just to point out a couple of the indignities this drug inflicts on seniors.

Seniors will be denied treatment of some cancers and some drugs. There is no excuse for this.

1. The republican line on cancer
survival of the fittest.. If you have money you are financially "fit" so you get a chance to survive. If you are old, poor , and sick, you do not deserve a chance to survive.. They best thing for "everyone" is for you to pass quietly into the night, and be quick about it.. No need to "waste" drugs on you..

Harsh?..yes....True?...yes

2. People must go on Medicare at 65. Other insurance can drop them.
So it really does not matter if you have money, unless you are very very wealthy. Even middle class, upper ones, will suffer under this.

3. They also cut rehabilitation
So, if grandma falls and breaks her hip, well, tought s--t. You're enough of a drag on the War Effort as it is, you old bat.

My only question is, just how much of this is going to come out in detail between now and the election? Probably not enough.
