Corporal Cueball sez "When they hit you, hit back harder."
I caught part of James Carville's Booknotes talk. He says that America will never elect a party that won't defend itself. He said that when Republicans hit us, we have to be prepared to hit them right back, and harder.

He says this election must be framed on big issues for Dems. Not on details, but on the position of America in the world, and the restoration of our prestige and honor. Don't be distracted by small issues. The very future of America is at stake.

If you get a chance, go to c-span and listen to his talk in the archive. Very inspiring.

1. He has it right
We have to speak to middle and working class values. Where the country is headed and what it has to do with their lives.

Dick Gephardt saying he will be a better president because he'll be able to free up additional millions for Head Start and Americorps won't cut it.

WTF is up with him saying Dean shouldn't have said we're not safer??????????

and why is he such a wuss when he's on MTP and the other potatoboy show?

man of many faces.......starting to worry about him.

words matter, I know, but less so, it seems, these days, especially if they emanate from the blowhole at 1600.

4. I'm with you there...
Carville needs to follow his own advice more often. I have seen him take too many dives when the heat was on.

6. He's a Corporate Democrat
Carville is politically brilliant and often offers great advice.

But he's also kind of a Trojan Horse of the DLC. He says fight like hell and tell the truth, but his positions often are the same old corporate positions as Al From.

7. I Just Got The Book...I Need Some Encouragement
It was a present from my daughter's boyfriend (tryin' to butter up the old man???). Not bad for an 18-year old kid from a Conservative Repugnican suburban family...there's hope for the future.
