Another Orange alert bonus for Bush...
Beyond distracting from the "Kurds-catch-"Saddam" and "Kean says 9-11 preventable" stories, Bush gets bonus "ratchet up the fear" points when millions of people head to airports this week and are greeted by gun-toting soldiers. Surely one of the busiest travel weeks of the year will be haunted by terror props from this despicable administration.

Bush, you make the baby Jesus cry...and you make him want to kick you square in the nuts...

1. I don't see the alert as a bonus for Bush

If we keep having these alerts it will show people that we are not any safer because of Bush. And maybe they will begin to think about changing tracks in 2004.

2. my thoughts on the alert system
I think it is utilized to provide an image enhancer for Bush. I think is used to distract the public from concentrating on the negativity that is generated by the failures of this administration. And it is a cya tactic. The down side for its use is that we have a cry wolf syndrome possibility when nothing occurs. And thinking people see it as an admission that we are not safer than before and that we have not made any significant inroads into coping, managing, and defeating terrorism. I don't think it very smart to say that perhaps we are in danger of a terrorist attack as great or greater than 9/11. The real clincher for me is their insistence that we just go on as normal. This is an inept administration with another inept policy in whole series of inept policies.
