Safer now that Saddam is caught why isn't terror alert level going down
instead of up? Why is it the exact same level of alert as last year at this time? I wish they would just try to keep their story straight.

1. Maybe because
Saddam wasn't involved in the terrorism that has us targetted.

5. Because there are a lot more Jihadists out there.
Well gee, I guess the subject line sums it up pretty well.

In this case Saddam's ties to Alqueada are not the issue.

Doesn't matter if Saddam had ties to AlQueada or not.

There are still many Alquaeda members out there and lots of other groups that have sworn to destroy the US.

6. Because they need a distraction
The story about the SF ODA who almost threw a grenade into Saddam's hidey-hole and the rest of the Saddam capture stories doesn't sound all that heroic when you learn that they got Saddam gift-wrapped and ready to have his head placed on a pike.

BTW, is it just me or does the official story that "the first words the GIs said when they found Saddam were 'President Bush sends his regards'" sound a little hokey and scripted? If I was the guy who uncovered him, I gotta feeling my first words would have been on the order of "holy shit, guys, there's a guy down here!"

7. Because that's just the way things are.
They just caught Saddam, so now the terror alert doesn't go down. THey know that with his capture people will say "hey we really can get these guys" So boost up the Terror Alert to scare people and they'll be more apt to say "go get em because of the recent capture"

All good Amurkins know that Osama is still out there, soon to be caught by that wiley commander in chimp, our beloved pretzeldent.

Its ONLY when discussing IraqNam that we link 9/11 to IraqNam and terra. When discussing color codes, we must think of Osama. (please see Faux News for complete instructions on level of panic to display)

And, what, aren't you GLAD that Saddam was caught? According to a slight extension of Kerry's comments, if Gore had been inaugurated as president, Saddam would still be in power.....and all those Murkin heros would still be alive.

Otherwise, if there is a heightened terra lert, it must be attributed to Osama (soon to be captured).
