Condi: Not Keen to Go Under Oath in 9-11 Hearings
Condi and the 9/11 Commission

National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice is apparently not keen on going under oath for the Kean 9/11 commission.

By TIMOTHY J. BURGER WASHINGTON

Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003

Poised to convene its first hard-hitting hearings in January, the federal commission investigating the 9/11 attacks continues to be at odds with the White House over access to key information and witnesses. Two government sources tell TIME that National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice is arguing over ground rules for her appearance in part because she does not want to testify under oath or, according to one source, in public.

3. I can tell you why
She doesn't know how to lie worth a damn. It's so easy to tell when she's lying.

2. Very smart of her
If I were her, I wouldn't want to have to try to explain her comment that 'No one ever thought that airplanes could be used as weapons pre-9/11' (paraphrase) under oath.

She would either have to admit to being completely ignorant or a complete liar.

28. And very arrogant of her....
I guess that is where Bush wants to draw the line? The people do not have a right to know. Period. End of story.

7. She's a TERRIBLE liar, and she knows it
It's almost sad to watch her lie for these people. She physically shakes so bad that it almost looks like she's having a seizure. It must be miserable for her.

8. I love how the media
is always careful not to bite the hand that feeds them. Thus, after all is said and done, the authors always remind us that officials are always co-operating, despite the fact that the article is about officials creating ground-rules for testimony.

Call her "Condoleeza" or "Rice" No nicknames allowed, right? Oh, only candidates? Sorry, getting so hard to keep up with the draconian rules around here anymore. :-(

11. "So, Dr. Rice, is it true that you had no idea that
airplanes could be used as weapons? Remember, you are under oath..."

Rice: "err, ummm, is this thing on?"

12. so, dr. rice.... you say you expected 'conventional' hijackings?

was that one plane at a time?
or multiple planes?

if you expected 'conventional' hijackings, why wasn't the 'conventional' protocol--for planes off-course--followed

and, when did you notice the stock irregularities?

18. "what did you know and when did you know it" scares her witless
as it should, considering there is a paper trail a mile long and even things supposedly secure behind "executive privledge" once leaked can and will be used for contempt of congress and perjury charges later on.

21. I think Condi will be avoiding small one-engine planes for a while
Then again, "killed defending America against terrorists" might play well for the Bush administration, and I'm fairly certain Rumsfeld could arrange it.

23. Rapid Shifting of eyes...left, right, left, right..Liar,liar,liar
I can't see her doing either b.or c..might trigger an "unfortunate fall." However, there is amazing "forgivness" in the Repub party as well as the media, so my bet is on choice a.
I really don't see her being allowed to testify on behalf of the TRUTH. Bush's people are probably concting a NEW Constitutional Amendment to avert any damaging exposure to their sorry lying evil hearts. My guess is there will suddenly be a crisis on American soil to deem the White House "untouchable in a time of war."

27. Of course she's not...she's a criminal
Conflict-of-interest, bribery, collusion, perhaps treason...

She fears being under oath for the same reason the Emperor* does...or Tony Soprano, for that matter.

29. Condi has no business being in the Bush Crime Family!
Not nearly cold-blooded enough! Plus she's a relative weakling - (as is Chimpy) meaning she's apparently haunted by a conscience! (The Evil/fool War Chimp has managed to dull his with drink and drugs - and religion!)

31. Would she maintain the same excuse under penalty of perjury?
Big League stakes here. If she tries to maintain "nobody knew" and they have information to the contrary, she is toast. She is the firewall into the Oval Office.

I hope they ask her about that executive order to invade Afghanistan that was awaitng Bush's return from FL.
