IIRC, didn't we supply the Israelis with the fissile materials to build their bombs in the first place? How hypocritical.

It's true that radical Islamic clerics and corrupt and ineffective Arab governments desperate for a scapegoat bear much responsibility for the proliferation of virulently anti-western Islamic militancy, but Americans are hardly blameless. We've made ourselves so easy to demonize. :-(
