Sorry, but today I'm pessimistic about our chances in 2004. What with the infighting, the media completely on board with full-blown worship of LordGodBush, BBV, SCOTUS locked and loaded for the next selection, and the terra terra terra cries freaking out the uninformed populace, I'm not sure any of the candidates have a chance. There is no indepedent press or media left to speak of and most people don't get their news from the internet. If we did have a free and independant press, SmirkCo would be gone in an instant...hell he'd be impeached and convicted.

Alas, that is not where we are right now.

Anyway, SmirkCo will have won the selection in my scenario and the Patriot Draft will be in place by July of 2005.

Iran?

Perhaps a little Eastern adventure in the Korean penninsula?

Maybe that oil rich country in south america we attempted a coup in this past year?

The only thing he's raiding is the liquor cabinet.

He dosn't have the troops, or won't for long. Most guys are getting out, they've had enough. Our troop strength is going to drop to dangerously low levels.

As a draft dodger Bush dosn't have the political capital to activate the draft. After 9/11 the military presented Bush with a list of options, activating the draft wasn't one of them. Ever wonder shy?

There is a lot of talk about a draft but I really think that we will put a man on the moon before we start calling up soldiers.

19. N. Korea

The neo-cons like to start fights but they don't like to finish them. After Afghanistan, they intended to conquer the Middle East. Now that they've dropped the ball in Afg. and bungled it in Iraq, I think they will consider the ME conquered and move on towards N.Korea, then China. Vice President Wolfowitz (after Cheney croaks) and Secretary of State Perle will lead the charge.
