So - Dave visits the wounded, and appears "casually talking on the phone." Shall we contrast to a stealthy midnight mission by our "courageous" C-in-C and a fake turkey for some hand-picked soldiers? And a mission that could be called off a BA flight spotted it? :D

Time to break out the "Ol' Yellow Stain" moniker for Shrubby. Those of you who have read or seen The Caine Mutiny know this one...

6. yes, that's why he's over there now rather than home with his new baby.
?????

Come on, it takes courage and kindness in great measures to do what he is doing.

5. Dave's top ten (partial)
(snip)

"In a routine that Letterman is famous for on the show, he read out a "top 10" list written especially for the soldiers: the top 10 signs you've been in Iraq (news - web sites) too long.

"No. 9: you've heard a crazy rumor that Arnold Schwarzenegger (news) is the governor of California," Letterman said.

Number two was, "Camel: it tastes like chicken."

Number one was aimed at the soldiers running the hospital: "And the No. 1 sign you've been in Iraq too long: Dave's heard about our outstanding health care and came to us for his hemorrhoids," Letterman said to loud applause. "
