Why the Christmas Terror Alert? : Last Christmas before the 2004 election

and began to reflect on the reasons to raise the alert level NOW?

Bush and his troglodyte advisors are obviously as stupid as all hell because it proves indubitably that Dean was absolutely right that we are no safer since the Kurdish capture of Saddam and his being turned over to to our US soldiers.

But there must be a PSYOPS/Blackops rationale for ratcheting up this terror alert at the holidays and the virtual seizing of 2 planes and pilots and passengers (they stoppped 2 of the the flights but told no one they weren't flying so they could search the passengers)

My bet is that there will be SOME fabricated story in the next few days (probably new year's weekend) saying they "stopped" something big so the water cooler conversations will be about this on January 5th when we all return to work.


BUT upoon reflection it is my opinion that the MAIN reason to do this is Psychological.

We associate everything that is BEST about America (at least I think the vast majority of Americans do) with Christmas. We gather with friends and family. We drink eggnog and cheer. We sing together and watch holiday favorites on tv. We spend money like there is no tomorrow because we want to engage in what America is all about: consumption of fun toys and cool things that we worked our asses off for. We eat the best meals we can possibly afford and we are actually nice to people we don't like most of the time. We actually TRY tp enjoy ourselves and with the New Year Holiday a week away we get two holidays back to back and a few measly days off from the grindstone where we look forward to wonderful things and hope and pray for a better year than this one (which sucked for tens of millions of Americans).

So what this seems to me to be about is one thing and one thing ONLY:


THIS IS A REMINDER FROM BUSH AND CHENEY AND THE REST OF YOUR CORPORATE (FASCIST)MASTERS:

YOU ARE NOT SAFE! YOU CANNOT RELAX AND ENJOY ANYTHING!

YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE AND ENJOY A DAMN THING UNLESS YOU KEEP US IN POWER BECAUSE ONLY WE CAN PROTECT YOU!

DO NOT FORGET: WE MAKE YOU SAFE BY KEEPING EVERYONE ON A SHORT LEASH AND REMINDED THAT UNLESS YOU KEEP US IN POWER YOU WILL DIE A MISERABLE DEATH BECAUSE TERRORISTS ARE EVERYWHERE TRYING TO KILL YOU!

2. It's worse than that, I think.

Subconsciously everyone knows this regime stole the election and made 9-11 happen, along with the anthrax attacks. We've all read or heard something about Gitmo, Jose Padilla, and the Patriot Act. We've heard about Tommy Franks threatening "prediction" of martial law in case of another terror attack.

They're giving us this message: Vote for us or we'll butcher you.

Your votes will not count anyway so just do what we say: It's Christmas and you are all f*cked.
