Is anyone watching the CNN special on the Pope?
Interesting comment about the Pope on the show made by a priest-
"He is way more to the left than even the most liberal Democrats."
This was in reference to social and economic issues.

2. If you believe this, then you do not know the stances of the Pope
Here is a good resource
wwww.networklobby.org
Catholic Social and Economic Justice Lobby, based on Catholic Socials Teaching

Also, the Pope said Catholics can believe in evolution, as long as God is part of the process.
What wingnut would say that?

4. On the 'social issue' of women,
he rates minus 100. He has done more to set back the position of women, especially in developing nations, than almost any human alive.

This Vicar of Christ wouldn't have talked theology with the woman at the well, like Jesus did.

5. OK, you're right
The Pope did nothing to help women who were held hostage under communism.

7. This is way people call Democrats stupid, meaning no political savvy
Listen, here is an example of how the Pope is actually liberal, and a bunch of naysayers want to point out other things.

No wonder Catholics are becoming more Republican.

All these un-savvy Democrats can't understand that 1/4 of the entire US population is Catholic and seemingly cannot grasp how to capture the Catholic vote.
I post something that can make the Democratic party look good in Catholic voters eyes and I get these Pope bashing links.

With these types of Democrats, Bush is sure to win 2004.

And if you do a simple Internet search, you can find how the Pope fought communism. But I guess no women lived under communism, according to some on her.
