Anyone see Tucker Carlson eat crow the other day?(anyone got the video?)

I was wondering if anyone saw him the other day on Crossfire.

Apparently he had just gotten back from Iraq, and things weren't as merry as he was led to believe. I hear he looked humbled and scared...

Does anyone have video of the un-bow-tied Tucker talking about Iraq not being the wet dream he thought it was?

1. I saw Tucker live on Crossfire from Iraq
He looked scared. He kept talking about how there was constant gunfire in the streets.

2. no video but transcript

----------
CARLSON: Well, it's -- it's in a state of -- it's dangerous, is the bottom line. I heard gunfire the second I got there probably on the hour every hour for the entire time I was there. So it is definitely -- there are many parts, at least the parts I was in, completely unsecured.

You hear automatic weapons rattling off at all hours, literally all hours. And you hear window-rattling explosions all the time. It was a little more chaotic than I expected.
------------------

I saw one American flag, one, when I was there for the entire week. And it was at the Baghdad International Airport on the fourth floor in the bar. And that was it.

4. Poor bow-tie Tucker shitted in his pants...
A little bit of reality is good from time to time pretty-boy...

6. Welcome to real war Tucker
Edited on Thu Dec-25-03 12:31 PM by Mountainman
It is amazing to me how chicken hawks talk up war and then when you put them in it all they want to do is hide under the bed.

We had a lieutenant in Vietnam who constantly talked about the war against the communists. He was an ROTC officer fresh from college and he read all the war story novels when books were sent to us from groups in the states.
Well we were attacked one night during Tet and had to defend our area in a firefight. That lieutenant was found literally hiding under his bead.

I immagine Tucker felt about the same way.

5. This is why conservatives hate Tucker
he tells the truth, or a version closer to the truth than other ideologues. If Tucker says its bad, it must be terrible.

8. I'm not going there.
No way am I going to defend Tucker except to say he is sometimes honest. Which is so much more than you can say for the majority of them.

If Novak (or any of the other hate filed cons) had witnesses that Tucker did he would have said it is evidence we are wining the war. No doubt in my mind. If asked about the gun fire he would have said "they are still celebrating the capture of Saddam. In their culture that includes firing guns into the air. It goes on around the clock because they are so happy Saddam is gone."

Tucker reports it more honestly.

10. I hear you...
I just go the impression you thought him to be an overall honest guy, which I disagreed with. But I see what you are saying, now.

Merry Xmas! :)

11. Wild horses wouldn't drag Novak to Baghdad.
Tucker probably won't do it again in the future.

14. And that is too bad
There is nothing I would like to see more than Bob Novak's dried up old wrinkled ass in the middle of the Iraq conflict.

13. How many of the others
would go to Iraq anyway? Maybe he should question his propaganda before he gets his behind blown off. Liars aren't that stupid and cowardice is best enjoyed at home.

9. about time that child got some real-world experience
That kid has absolutely no business being on any kind of a talk show. Might as well have my eight year old on TV.

12. I commend Tucker for having the guts to go to Iraq to see what's going on.
Tucker occasionally surprises me, like when he wrote about Bush mocking the condemned Karla Faye Tucker before she was executed.
